5. My mother actually said an equivalent thing to me recently

I jumped on her ass for berating the NOLA victims as lazy. Actually color wasn't mentioned, but the minute I complained, she started telling me that the (black) woman who took care of us while she worked, named Delores, was one of her best friends. She paid her a pittance, has rarely spoken to Delores since she stopped working for her, and never shared a social occassion, family gathering or anything with her. Except that Delores showed up at my brothers funeral - she helped raise him for most of his life.

I wish my mother had half the decency of this woman.

Later came the other thoughtless remark that people who in denial about prejudice usually make, that is that there are good black people and bad black people. But the antics of bad white people are not usually a concern for her, or if they are, it is not attributed to their whiteness.

11. I work for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America....

they have 3300 urban clubs in America and many in the Ghettos. They service over 4 million kids with great programs. John Walsh has worked with them and instituted stringent hiring methods and tracking of pedophiles....the Catholic Church should take a few pages out of their book.....a safe and sane place for kids in their own neighborhood.....they have a "smart girls" program that teaches exactly what Mr.Bennett says his wife does. Reproduction class, abstinence too, self esteem classes etc.....they have programs for gang memebers....they are an excellent outfit. They run their operation at 18%.....all corporations would love an operational figure like that and they are primarily run by Blacks and what has the government done....cut them by 17%. They are LIARS.....
