Let's catalog the Right's expressed racism; add your "favorites":
It seems it's recently become almost socially acceptable to publicly express one's latent racist tendencies.

I've even seen this at work and at social gatherings. I suspect that this is in large part due to the RW deciding simple respect and politeness was the dreaded "political correctness."

I'm tired of it being "okay" to spout this hostility and claim your own "offense" because someone was offended at such direspect, discourtesy, and white-robed, knuckle-dragging social mores.

I'ts my thread, so I'll start with the easiest one: Gamblin' Billy Ben's grand idea to reduce crime:

Bennett, on his radio show, "Morning in America," was answering a caller's question when he took issue with the hypothesis put forth in a recent book that one reason crime is down is that abortion is up.

"But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down," said Bennett, author of "The Book of Virtues."

3. head of HUD yapping his trap recently
did I miss the memo? When was it announced that it's en-vogue to be racist again?

A Bush Cabinet officer predicted this week that New Orleans likely will never again be a majority black city, and several black officials are outraged.
Alphonso R. Jackson, secretary of housing and urban development, during a visit with hurricane victims in Houston, said New Orleans would not reach its pre-Katrina population of "500,000 people for a long time," and "it's not going to be as black as it was for a long time, if ever again."

4. Well, who can forget this whopper?
"Another example would be the Dred Scott case, which is where judges, years ago, said that the Constitution allowed slavery because of personal property rights. That's a personal opinion. That's not what the constitution says. The constitution of the United States says we're all — you know, it doesn't say that. It doesn't speak to the equality of America." —George W. Bush, second presidential debate, St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2004

5. Holy fuck, he doesn't even know the Dred Scott case.
:eyes:

Actually, I can't even read that, or understand what he was trying to say, because it is riddled with his affected dummy moves--stopping mid thought, starting over, saying something totally different, wrong information....

He should never speak.

6. I think that is deliberate on the part of his handlers.
Why he was "anointed" by the PNACers to run, actually.

It serves two purposes:
1. Makes him seem like an "aw, shucks," non-East Coast Yalie type, even though he is, and
2. Since no one can really make head nor tail out of it, it can't really come back to haunt him later.

If they'd wanted the real deal, cheney would have been the number 1 on the ticket. W was a far easier PNAC package.

10. Can anyone find the Time Magazine cover of the Arab woman with green eyes?
Although technically, would a woman in Afghanistan be Arab or Persian?
