don't cause prices to go up. This magazine really creeped me out. Explaining why oil costs so much, advice on how to improve your credit score so you can get deeper in debt, and the military is here to help you...

9. The National Guard are military. |
|
I thought they were supposed to be home responding to disasters. And the Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines are supposed to fight the wars.

14. Something to consider, however. |
|
At a time when the military is being stretched to the limits and disrespected by all the chickenhawks that have made such a dismal mess in its usage, I am buoyed with a glimmer of hope that a Marine will be the new Chief of Staff. I served with the marines. I know their true dedication to this country. You can dislike anything military if you like, but, at a time like this, you truly want a Marine at the helm.
In a way, maybe placing a Marine in the Chief's chair is the rest of the other branch commanders way of handling Dumsfeld. Their traditions, sacrifices and devotion have been trammeled upon by these neo-con chickenhawks. There is no branch of service more keenly aware of the 'spirit de corps' than the Marines. I look at his appointment as a message by the rest of the armed forces that it's time to send in the Marines.

15. Another point to consider. |
|
The strongest opposition to the corporate cabal, by far, has been from the Army.
Army Rangers, Green Berets, and paratroopers would also debate your assertion that the Marines have more espirit de corps than anyone else.
I ate breakfast with Pace for four months and I can tell you he is a yes-man more than anything else. That's what it takes to get ahead in the Bush administration.
Nothing against the Marine Corps. I have trained and worked with them many times and have the utmost respect.

16. Thanks, my glimmer is now fading. |
|
That's the other thing about the Marines, however. The attitude of "Can do, with less." I can remember so many times how the Marines would operate under budget for the year and have their budget cut. Well, I can hope something these idiots will do will prick this Marines sense of honor and spur him into action.
And I, in no way, was calling out the other branches sense of 'spirit de corps.' I was just bringing to attention the gung-honess that epitomizes the Marines. It's almost fanatical in its expression at times. As a Corpsman with Force Recon, I would oftentimes roll my eyes at some of the stuff I was exposed to.:eyes:

I beg your pardon. I only dislike the White House being in charge of my local police force, emergency or not. No disrespect to the military intended on my part.

21. I haven't looked at it since the Hillary smear. |
|
The Hillary smear book was written by the Parade gossip "Walter Scott". I forget his real name. I figure someday soon I'll write to the advertisers in Parade and explain why I no longer read it. Of course "Walter Scott" isn't the only liar in Parade.
