IRAQ: Thousands of civilians flee military offensive near Syrian border
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/IRIN/ab1b6b5abb4254a0ea6630a640d6d444.htm

BAGHDAD, 2 October (IRIN) - Thousands of civilians have fled the Iraqi town of al-Qaim near the Syrian border following the start of a fresh US military offensive against insurgents in nearby villages, local government officials said on Sunday.

They told IRIN that about 600 families had abandoned al-Qaim, a small town in the Euphrates river valley, since the offensive began on Saturday. The number of people displaced by the fighting was expected to increase rapidly, they added. snip

"We are really worried about how large this military operation will become because our hospital cannot cope with so many patients due to a lack of essential emergency materials," Massaibi said.

He also noted that the hospital was still dealing with many children who had been suffering from malnutrition since the previous US-led offensive in the area five months ago.

1. What War?
Oh that thing. The white noise from Oceania.

The oncelers go shopping. The world's on fire.

"To survive, the spectacle must have social control. It can recuperate a potentially threatening situation by shifting ground, creating dazzling alternatives- or by embracing the threat, making it safe and then selling it back to us"- Larry Law

it gets to the point where your head expodes- no?
It's like watching a train wreck in a slow motion dream,
all the while sensing and dreading the waking moment when you are
idientified as the author of the crime.
This is being done in OUR names-
With our tax dollars and the blood
of our sons and daughters.
What WILL we say when we meet the maker
for our complicity in the last several hundred years of GENOCIDE?

Shit man I talk, discuss, beseech, rant etc. as well as quietly pass out info that I always carry with me all day every day. The looks of stupefaction and the numbers of baleful expressions I encounter each day is mind boggling.

yea for sure my head explodes a thousand times a day. The only thing more frustrating than the attempts to awaken the Americanus Consumeranus re: Iraq Plunder/Massacre is the attempt to engage same creature in an in-depth discussion about Planetary Meltdown.

Hey You! Yea You! This is affecting you!, followed by the thousand mile stare.

I'll be back at it tomorrow.
