Note: It was Gore's 88 campaign, not the 2000.

1. And the right is using that to tell us she is acceptable
This is the worst example of cronyism that we have seen, even in the Bush administration. His personal lawyer? Come on. Why would her political donations nearly 20 years ago be relevant.

3. A thousand bucks to Dems does not a qualified SC nominee make...
This is just a smokescreen.

5. Not my point . . . my point is what happened that made her do a 180 degree
turn from supporting Democratic candidates to supporting . . . Bush?

If she was donating to Gore instead of Poppy, what caused her to flip?

8. Republican backers are known to donate in Democratic primaries
to help the Republicans get the Democratic nominee they want to run against in the general election.

9. DING DING! We have a winner!
I've seen a lot of this in Missouri, where the open primary system allows "fence jumping". Its very common for Republicans to encourage their voters to vote in the Dem primary for the worst candidate.

11. That is why Imus took his show on the road during the primaries.
To anyone who had any doubts about what role Imus played in the 04 primaries guess who he had as a recent guest? Bush Sr. - and he isn't going to appear on the Imus show if Imus was really anti-George/pro-Democrat in 04.
