1. What does it mean if the 'jig is up' in Iraq?
Our troops come home? The POTUS finally gets impeached?

3. The jig is up in the sense that Bush's credibility is irretrievably damaged
The reason he lasted as long as he did is because the possibility existed that he was the innocent victim of bad advice from the right and conspiratorial scheming from the left. The Downing Street minutes and his response to Katrina have stripped him of that armor to the extent that the national media cannot make effectively make excuses for him anymore.

4. You think this will be the subject of his next "important" speech.
All those "war supporters" will freep out. We must "change the course".

Fitz must have a handful of Halloween treats for us.

5. They will start pulling just enough troops
next summer in time for the '06 election PR campaign. After that, who knows?

It will also justify all those repubs winning (via Diebold, of course). They can say, "We listened to the American public, pulled the troops & that's why we won." The sheeple will fall for it & by '08 our democracy will be totally cooked. They will have complete control of the vote & will be so confident they will not even have to lie to appease the American public anymore. "We're in charge & we know what's best for you."

We will not leave Iraq & its oil.
