Harriet Miers could be a feminist and or a lesbian |
|
She is not married and does not have children. It's going to be hard to read her because on one hand it seems that a woman could not get as far as she did (of course I'm referring to her accomplishments *before* Bush) without having some pro-female views; on the other hand, she is tied in with the Bush admin.

Great, that's what we need a lesbian version of Alan Keyes or Clarence Thomas.

This is just like the "she's pro-choice" statement - no verification.

I don't think the good-ole-boy Texas bar association would elect a lesbian as its president. What's the story on her family background? Does she have sibs? nephews? nieces? If so, what kind of lives do they lead? What about her parents? Did she come from oil money? Dirt farmers? Did she work her way through school? I doubt it, cause she wouldn't have gone to an expensive private university. What's her religious background? Why do people say she's pro- choice, but don't include any reference to document that statement? On Edit: Normally I could care less what someone's sexual preferences are. But in this case, we have no paper trail (judicial opinions)to indicate this woman's values or beliefs. To put this person who says: "George-Bush-is-the-most-brilliant-man-I've-ever-met" person on the bench of the United States Supreme Court is criminally negligent and a quantum leap to the dumbing down of the judicial system.

10. Well, of course, she's a lesbian!!!!!!! |
|
Any woman who is not married and never had children is a lesbian. I'm surprised that you are not "up" on your right wing thinking!! Oh, man, this should just cause their heads to whirl round and round on their shoulders. There's just something not right about a woman who doesn't choose to breed and stay home and bake cookies. Man, she must have a hell of a lot of Bush secrets in her backpocket to make Bush have to nominate her as his base's head explodes!!!

13. Absent judicial opinions, we need every clue we can get about her. |
|
I was waiting for someone to make your comment. See my edit note in my post above. IShe is truly a stealth candidate. We have no judicial opinions or learned articles in law reviews, etc., to indicate this person's temperament, nature or character. Her personal life is therefore an important indicator of who she is. We know already that she says George is the most brilliant man she's ever met. We know she has been privy to all the Bush family dirty laundry, as George's personal lawyer. We know she has not one scintilla of judicial experience. She is a nightmare of a candidate. As a lawyer myself, I see her candidacy as reflective of Bush's and Rove's absolute contempt for the court system of this country.

16. I didn't mean to stereotype--the point is we TRULY don't know |

who this woman is. Google her and look at the responses. There is barely anything on her except maybe a list of her accomplishments.

For chrissake!
She could be married for 20 years with two grown children and ALSO be a lesbian in case you didn't know.

in my opinion, i am wary of anyone who wants to run stuff who hasn't had to learn how to balance work and family/loved ones. don't care if married or kids, just that you've had to know how to allocate your time.
