How to clear the Supreme Court and start over without impeachment. |
|
Defund it.
Zero budget.
Electricity off.
Water off.
No staff.
No phones.
No computers.
No paper.
No pens.
No court reporter.
Congress has the power of the purse - an important leg in checks and balances that it has never exercised.
How long do you think any of these Republicans would remain there?

|
B. The "people" would never stand for this (at least I hope not).

Sorry, I don't support that. Not trying to rid the Govt of one of the three constitutionally called for branches.

And this is that reason.
Remember your civics class? This was covered.

Love the idea, worry that congress critters have their own hides to save and got the message that loyality to the BUSHCO Mob has its rewards.

16. Das a fact. And to do that, we gotta have fair, accurate vote counts |
|
Glad my county is poor, small and uses pencils. Oh, and I help count the votes to keep them all honest ;)

13. Your thinking is a bit flawed. |
|
Congress may have the power of the purse, but we don't have the power of the Congress. And we couldn't override the definite veto that would come.

You cannot veto the negative action of not approving a budget.

20. Alright, well, why don't we focus on step one before moving on to step 2 |
|
As Step 1 is most definitely not assured by any means. We MIGHT be able to take back the Senate, but the House is not very likely.

24. Even a weak incumbent still has an advantage. |

I think we'll narrow the gap, but getting 16 seats to change hands is not going to be a cakewalk by any means.

27. It *is* a sure thing if we work tirelessly. |
|
If we never give an inch, never give up, We will win it.
If we pause for just one moment, Let the rope go slack for an instant, that is when we will be drawn into the abyss.
A "sure thing" is what you get when hard work meets opportunity.

23. MANY years ago, david brinkley made the observation that congress used |
|
to be in recess from may through oct (believe the comment came during some of the "conserving energy" measures taken during the carter admin, you know--shirtsleeves, open windows, etc) and said that the reason for that was that prior to the installation of air conditioning, it was simply unbearable to be in DC in the summer. so, no a/c in summer, and no heat in winter for the critters, either.
