Oh, sorry. I forgot. Yeah, Molly is female, not a judge, and a Texan. However, if I remember correctly, she wrote two books, "Shrub" and "Bushwhacked," warning us about George W. Bush.

One of her great statements in "Bushwhacked" is: "If everyone had read 'Shrub,' I wouldn't have had to written this book."

And although Molly is usually very congenial, she let her anger show through in one of her latest columns. She wrote, and I'm paraphrasing, "The next time I tell people not to elect a Texan as president, maybe people will listen to me."

You've just gotta love Molly Ivins. She knew very well what George W. Bush was long before the rest of the country had to find out the hard way.

2. I second that nomination.

Of course, we know the answer. Ivins is not an anti-choice, pro-big-business, Bush loyalist. Therefore, she has no chance of ever being nominated for any post by the man she calls "shrub."

To prevent having to repeat them, I have collected my thoughts on Miers in another thread.

But, for the record, I wanted to say that I'd love to see Ivins on the Supreme Court.

Edit:Laelth--clarity.

8. Whoops.
Yes, I am occasionally humor-challenged. :)

I knew the OP meant his post as a joke, but I wanted to show some support for Molly. I love her work. I edited the post above for clarity. Thanks.

3. Would you pick Molly
if she held you up as a jerk for the entire country to see?

Molly is a wonderful woman and my favoritew columnist but I just wonder if she couldnt do more for this country by staying on the outside of government looking in and then telling everyone else.

I would love for Molly to be picked......but, realistiocally, what would her chances be of being confirmed by a GOP dominated congress?

6. I think the original post was being a bit sardonic
Given that Molly is the grand matriarch of anti-W. journalism and publishing.
