People Are You Feeling It
It’s time. It is time for us that speak intelligence and passion towards our fellow men and women; to speak up and slowly and gently beat the crap out of the old beliefs of the people that have been in charge. It is time for them to start seeing our beliefs, people it is really time.

I have watched and read and lived how everyday people are taking voice and finally speaking up. I have pissed many people off these days because I am done listening to their rationale of how theirs is the right way and mine is the wrong way. I am saying, no more!

These people that usurped our way of life with their beliefs, these people who took our freedoms, and our constitution, our separation of state and church away from us because they believed their way was right can no longer defend their system. It doesn’t work. I allowed them their voices and rationalizations and reasons for long enough, now it’s time to do it our way.

After the robbery that transpired in 2004, the other side took aim at us, ridiculed and abused us because they won, were in control and they were going to show us how it is supposed to be done. Well they have failed miserably in a very big way. It is now time for the rest of us who don’t back Democrats, Republicans or any other politician who is just voicing words without believing them and cowering in the corner, to call them out with strong and loud voices, continually until they no longer rule. We have started such a movement with Cindy and her Crawford Clan, and many have jumped on board. But for all of the rest of us that are stuck in a red sea of unintelligence, I have begun a crusade, to change the way people think. We have listened to their lies long enough folks, now it’s time for the meek to rise and speak loudly and clearly and honestly about our situation.

It is time folks for We The People to stand up to the plate and tell all of these people, Republicans, Democrats, Christians etc. etc. etc. that it is time to start listening to Mother Earth, and all the energy that goes with her in the form of women, (Cindy Sheehan, I’m warning you folks don’t piss off a mom) to environmental issues (need I say anymore then Katrina and Rita) and especially to war. It is time to speak louder then those that have been speaking for the last 5 years. Our voices are being heard, we are slowly chipping away at the ridiculous talking points and logic that the others have been brainwashed to believe. I have talked to young and old, rich and poor, and anyone else who gives me the opening to hear my opinion. I have pissed off many people but the funny thing is they keep coming back. The days of me keeping my opinions to myself are gone. You will now hear mine because I have truly had to hear yours shoved in my face; how you have won and how you were going to show me how it was supposed to be done. It is time that you listen instead of me having to listen to you.

It is no longer time for them to question us; we are the ones going to be asking the questions from now on. I want to know why, if you are a Christian, we are fighting wars. I want to know why they voted for this administration and then admit that it is doing no good. I want to know how you can defend this administration with a straight face. I no longer have to answer to why I feel the way I do, it is now time for you to answer to me. I want to know the answers and I’m not going to stop asking them until I do. All I have to say is if you don’t like it, well then too bad. We have had to listen to you, now SHUT UP and listen to us. It’s time folks.

If the media wants We the People to watch their programming, they had better make it our way or we refuse to watch (which many of us have already done.) If someone starts spewing the talking points of the old America we ask them to justify it. We turn this around to them and make them justify their vote and their beliefs to your own. When they start using the same dance, we throw them a different dance; we confuse them and make them explain again why they are for this administration. It is working folks, louder then even six months ago.

I love my DU bumper sticker on the back of my old, worn out car that sits in the parking spaces next to “I Love Bush”, W for President, and all the other assorted playful things they surrounded their cars with in love of their new “GOD”. I love that they can no longer defend themselves with simple logic, not to mention common sense or rationality. I love making them justify their beliefs for a change instead of me having to justify mine. I have made it folks, I’m not afraid to voice my opinion, I get under their skin, I’m your best friend and I am honesty coming to smack you silly with my voice. We can all do this everyday, just as they overthrew our beliefs we can simply out speak them with our intelligence. In my little old red state here, lots are becoming pissed off but they can’t do anything to keep me quiet. This is my little way of helping, and many have joined in the belief.

It’s time people and each of us can do this small task everyday, for free, and it drives them crazy. Start making those that believed this administration start listening to us for a change. Thanks for listening.

4. fixes the problem of these activist judges controlling our country
I mean if you've never been a judge, then certainly you aren't chaning the rules by deciding if a law prohibting one of you constitutional rights is good or bad.

Ironically, it means he totally slammed Gonzales (?) the current attorney general when he told talked a few weeks back about who he was gonna nominate. Bush said something to the effect "No one knows who I'm gonna nominate. . .and Gonzales is looking right at me"

I hope it stings like salt in a wound Gonzales!

18. Here's how I see the nomination
Bush decided to stop "activist judges" by nominating someone who is just an activist, not a judge.

I am feeling the same way of late. People everyewhere are disappointed in the ruling majority, even their voters.

I am finding it easier to be vocal about what is going on in public, and most conservatives I talk to are reaching a point of consensus that their leader is overrated at best, a spending, morally bankrupt loser at worst.

7. Good post!
My 71-year-old mother is pissed off and she says she never keeps her mouth shut anymore. She doesn't give a shit. She speaks her mind about Bush and the Republicans. Oh, by the way, she's registered Green (votes Dem. usually) and used to be sort of Republican-lite in the 70s/80s. But she's always been pro-environment, pro-animal, pro-choice, hates religious dogma, etc. etc.

9. Well it is time to get your optimism back
It doesn't cost anything, even if it does nothing more then piss off the people you are talking to, at least you are letting them know someone else has a different opinion then theirs and that we aren't going to take it anymore. Not optimism really, just completely fed up and not backing down. Thanks for posting though and stating your opinions.

12. You know what I like about your post?
You're right. I feel like it's not for people like me. I feel that it's for those who have not been speaking up. I do speak up. But even for me, it's important to continue speaking.

My experience has been that the more I try, the more stubborn they get. Without going into the specific stories, that is why I have become so angry about this mess we're in. The other side tends to dig in rather than think.

It's mornings like this where I feel like I've absolutely had enough. And eventually, it may be that I have to leave the country. We're dealing with infantile mentalities. And greed. I'm so sickened, I can hardly function. Thanks to people like you, people like me are supported enough to continue. Because I'm tired- this did not start in 2000. But long before.

41. Gregorian....I know what you mean....
I think about leaving the country as well. For me it started with Reagan in 1980...that's a long time ago. I too get tired...and the greed is simply overwhelming. And these greedy liars have no shame about stealing from the poor or letting them die.

I would love to have a president like Hugo Chavez....guess we could learn Spanish and head down south???

If Fitzgerald doesn't come out with indictments, I don't know what I will do.

When I run into a stubborn arrogantly ignorant one, I usually just laugh at them....pisses them off more than my words.

I talked to a friend last night who describes himself as "apolitical". He travels a lot for work and said wherever he goes, it seems, people want to talk politics and man, are they pissed at ** and his gang.

We had a repairman over to the house the other day. He turned purple at the mention of **. "Criminals! Criminals! They've got their foot on my throat!"

I mentioned to the cashier at the drugstore that I'd been to the protest in DC. And whoa! She took off on one righteous rant right there at work!

33. Yep
They think to be a real Christian is to be like them and if I'm not like them in my politics that I'm not a real Christian. :eyes: I follow the Bible for my personal life. I've been talking more about this on other boards and I always tell people who are conservatives that an athiest isn't going to follow what I follow and just because there is this law or that law doesn't mean I have to follow it. For example in the second amendment it states I can have a gun. I don't want a gun because it comes with the risk of killing someone and that would be on my hands since the gun would be mine. But the founding fathers thought it important to add that amendment. And Jesus was the one who preached about "turning the other cheek" and "Love thy neighbor as thy self." In war you're always going to kill an innocent and that counts on my hands if I was to support it. Plus, don't forget God states you can't serve both money and God and George Bush and his people are very greedy and corporations. How is that being Christian? How is hating someone for who they are being Christian? I'm sure I can go on....

I'm tired of my Christianity being questioned! I'm angry that someone has twisted the original teachings around to suit their own digusting moral code.
Conservatism is not Christianity. It never has been and never will be. The two do not mesh.

14. We are taking our country back! We are the majority!
We need to start acting like it.

In DC at the big Saturday march there was a small, fenced-off (read: protected :P ) group of freepers and I tried really hard to walk past them and not 'engage', but I didn't make it past... I screamed at them, with what little voice I had left:

"This is OUR COUNTRY and we are TAKING IT BACK!! YOU are the MINORITY NOW so you better get used to it!!!!"

Oh, it felt soooooooo good to do that.

17. Not too long ago the guys I work with dismissed me as a bit of a crank.
I've been railing against Bush since he first began considering a run for governor of Texas so they've gotten an earful over the years. Not everyone is pro Bush but I'm the squeaky wheel.

Sore Loserman in 2000 and Scary Kerry in 2004, this was sufficient to make their case, regardless of what I had to say.Nice people but most were smug in their ignorance, so I dialed down my rhetoric as it was obvious that, among my coworkers anyway,I was making no converts and possibly alienating them.

The last several months have seen a real change. Now when I voice my concerns about the disastrous direction these SOBs have been steering us into I'm getting a lot of agreement. You can see by the way these guys hang their heads,by the sorrow and regret in their eyes, that they know they've been had.

Smirk ain't never getting these guys back. Rove's sleazy little bag of tricks is about empty. This is North Central Texas so if there's a palpable feeling of discontent here(and there is)it's got to be nationwide.

Great post. You've expressed what I've been feeling much more eloquently than I could have. One American at a time,we'll get our country back.

That's what we have been up against. But the Bushbots are bringing themselves down now and those of us who've been saying what they are all about from the beginning will be vindicated. But then we'll have to clean up the mess and undo the damage, and I hope those who regret drinking the Kool-aid will be ready to help us. Brick by brick...

20. 'speak intelligence and passion'
That's what Aaron Broussard did to Tim Russert ..."I'll talk to anybody about happened in Katrina!" That's what Cindy Sheehan does everytime she speaks. That's what 500,000 people did when they went to Washington with their signs and spirit. That's what people are doing here at DU. That's what people are doing who put bumper sticker messages on their cars. These are the voices of The People speaking from the heart...without the help of the corporate media and largely without the help of elected representatives (with a few notable exceptions). IT IS TIME for the powers that be to answer to us. And it is time for those who inflicted this nightmare regime on America to answer to us. It's beyond apologies...they owe us a correction.
