"Where does this paranoia (Shrub's) come from?"
My "Preliminary trivia about MIERS" to the local radio talkshow wingnut consisted of: Her '88 donation to GORE, her being The Fixer of the Natl Grd records, and her calling Shrub "brilliant", and he replied:

"He has come to value loyalty above everything else. Where does this paranoia come from?"

That said, the wingnuts appear to be disappointed with Shrub over this. She appears to be ethically-challenged, anti-Choice, and mediocre (this last, a redundancy)--the price of avoiding a fight.

Hero Worship in the White House?

According to a blog by David Frum, a former speechwriter for Bush, Miers has been known for her loyalty and will not make headlines as a Supreme Court associate justice.

"In the White House that hero-worshipped the president, Miers was distinguished by the intensity of her zeal: She once told me that the president was the most brilliant man she had ever met," Frum's blog said. "She served Bush well, but she is not the person to lead the court in new directions — or to stand up under the criticism that a conservative justice must expect."
