6. This is part of BushCo's modus operandi
They never miss an opportunity to tell the press how great everybody thinks each other is.

Since the press no longer bothers to compare words with deeds, it's pretty effective. Bush tells the reporters how wonderful his appointees are, the appointees tell the reporters what a world-class leader Bush is. The reporters dutifully write stories with all of this mutual admiration.
