I have one thing to say about Harriet Meirs nomination
All I have read about her is she is a 'tough cookie', probably knows a few * skeletons and is in * inner circle.
Haven't we lowered the bar a little on whom can be nominated to SCOTUS? She has never been a Judge( not even Traffic Court) I have no idea if she even has any Constitutional experience. Considering NO Jurist has ever been impeached from SCOTUS, shouldn't aim a little higher with a lifetime appointment?

1. Aiming high
has not been a hallmark of the current administration.

2. I really really want to see what her work
experience is. I am not sure what is more dangerous; a constitutional scholar who is an enemy of 'some' of my principals or a Supreme Court Justice of the United States who
has no bench experience and no background in constitutional law. This is the heritage of our country these people work with. I am keeping my mind open, I'm just sayin...

3. Funny you should ask that
I had a knock out drag out fight with a liberal lawyer whom had the deepest respect for Scalia. He didn't always agree with him, but thought he was brilliant. If given the choice, I would have to agree. SCOTUS is not a training ground. Maybe she will rise to the occasion, maybe not. The issues in front of SCOTUS are complicated and have very subtle nuances.

Can we do better? Personally, I think it would be hard to do worse.
