What if a well liked/loved celebrity ran as a Green in '04 |
|
I see a lot of posts about Democrats losing because the higher ups refuse to reach out to the left leaning liberals. Could popular celebrity pull an upset like Arnold did last night?

3. I don't think a Green candidate is going to go from 2% to 35% or whatever |
|
they'd need to beat the Dem and Republican in only 4 years, without there being some kind of mood of complacency, and good times, which results in low turnout, and lets the Green sneak in.
There was never a third party candidate as popular and as much of a celebrity as Bull Moose TR, who had already been president, and he couldn't do it. So I don't see how any celebrity Green could do it.
However, I think Alec Baldwin should run for congress as a green in Peter King's district. I think that would be great for democracy.

. Unless they commit to dropping if it looks like they will lose like Arianna did, the greens won't even be considered by me.
