Question: Does 22 indictments mean 22 people, each indicted once...
or does it mean, say, 7 people, each indicted with 3 charges?

In other words, just because we are hearing the rumor that 22 indictments are about to be handed down, it doesn't necessarily mean that 22 people will be indicted?

What do y'all think?

1. I'll settle for 1. As long as I can name him.

21. The one with the biggest mouth, and who has the most to say.
Now that I think about it, the first one indicted usually gets the plea bargain to name the others, doesn't he?

26. True.
That would be Rove. Do you think he'd take a bullet for B*sh? I don't know.

23. I don't think so. She's more devoted to Georgy Porgy than to her kids.
Grrr. I hate her.

3. Could be anything, really.
22 charges, could even not be 22.

My guess is, though, Rove and Libby are getting hit hard.

4. Fewer than 22 people
Some will probably have multiple indictments. But still, if that rumor is true, a lot of people seem to be implicated.

11. We ought to do a pool on this. Just for fun, no money involved.
And have everyone guess how many people will be charged and how many counts each. :D

but I don't know if it's possible if you can indict someone 22 times. though Karl might be pushing that mark!

14. I think we are looking at multiple counts against...
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 09:45 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
maybe less than a dozen -- or even half a dozen -- people.

Counts I would guarantee against each of the people:

1) Obstruction of justice

2) Lying to a grand jury

Them we get to spend the next year or so saying, "It's not about the blowjob -- oops -- outing a CIA agent, it's about the LYING!" ;)

15. the other blogs are saying 22 people
1 indictment each, starting with everyone on Bush's plane when the
memo was openly discussed, then you have everyone involved in the
cover-up

16. I really can't imagine them hitting...
everyone involved with only one count. Anyone who testified before the grand jury and lied is looking at a minimum of two counts: obstruction and lying under oath.

17. 22 people sounds like a lot.
There are only about 21 Bush admin people involved in this. So where they get 22 people indicted, I don't know.

Hell, if it's half that many officials indicted, that's a lot.

20. Could be either. But, what I find amusing is the # 22 & the ThinkProgress
.... list of 21:

http://www.thinkprogress.org/leak-scandal

You'd only have to add one name -- and, if you asked me which name I'd add to bring it to 22, it would be Bolton

All I do have as fact are the words of Judge Tatel in his Feb 2005 opinion and every time I've read those words I only become more convinced that Fitzgerald and the Grand Jury are going to be bringing very serious charges against whomever the Grand Jury indicts.

Peace.

25. Rumors, rumors...oh, please do tell. I have been away from the computer
for most of the day. These sound like scrumptious rumors:9

Anyway, for my money, I'd say that there are a handful of players that are going to be handed multiple indictments. Some more than others.

un-indicted co-conspirators, anything else would be pure gravy.
