I knew it! I was watching ABC News this evening, and the stories went: 1. Subway scare 2. Bush speech. 3.Phillipine spy, 4. then one brief statement about Rove testifying again today. It seemed suspicious how this "subway terror" story so conveniently developed the same day Bush was giving a speech on terror, & exactly in time for the evening news. It basically gives weight to Bush's speech about the danger of terrorism from Iraq, pushes Rove off the headlines, and helps undercut the Senate's vote today to limit how suspects can be questioned. This has Karl Rove's fingerprints all over it. Has anyone ever heard of Iraqi insurgents plotting attacks in New York before? It bothers me that even as the ABC reporter was saying the story was "unsourced," they still used it as the lead. Why does the media let itself be used this way? For that matter, why would New York City?
