Where do you get your news? |
|
I'm looking for suggestions as to where to get balanced news instead of a bunch of Reich-wing propaganda.

1. You're here. There is no more comprehensive source on the internets for |
|
global news on EVERYTHING. DU ROCKS as perhaps the most informed and up to date site on the planet for news... there is no comparison.
I live in europe and I'll be in yahoo chat, and hear news on crap from los angeles on Democraticunderground, before the people in LA have heard the news... it's the best.

2. This is how I usually do it.... |
|
If I have been away from the computer for awhile I go to DU first and scan the recent LBN and recent GD and GDP threads... if there is a breaking story or something of interest, I will then Google it on Google News for updates. I will do the same with antiwar.com, looking for headlines and then Google for updates. I will then, if time permits, peruse dKos and then the corporate news sites, CNN.com, MSNBC.com, etc.
that is probably my typical news gathering pattern.

4. Besides DU, I go to Salon.com. Unless you're a subscriber, you have... |
|
to get day passes which make you have to see ads, but I honestly believe that the money that I spend there to subscribe is some of the best money that I spend. They've broken many stories that other news organizations have refused to touch. (For example, they broke the 'Bush* back bulge during the debates' story. Others followed.)
Otherwise, I go to truthout.org and alternet.org.
