Read the Kay report, dammit!! READ IT!!
Colin Powell has written an op ed piece saying we all MUST read the Kay report. And that upon reading it, we are all going to look up from the report and be enlightened. That all the justification for their warmongering is there, if we just read it, dammit. READ IT!! And Kay is whining that his report is not getting covered properly in the media.
The key smoke-and-mirrors phrase in that report is "weapons of mass detruction programs-related activities" (haha - that is funny in and of itself)....but the way talk radio are hyping it, with Ingraham and Hannity using their "I'm fucking serious" voices, you'd think they ACTUALLY had some proof, but if you listen to their rant or read Colon's prop-ed piece, it's all just a lot of words with "botulism" mixed in. But it is such crap, HOW do they take themselves seriously when they hype it? They act as if they are looking at flyover spy pictures of Cuba from '62 with the way they are treating this.
Kay is a pro-Bush top spook from the Bush controlled side of the CIA, and so we got a real honest assesment of what was REALLY found? Right? Sheee-it....
The paragraphs and sentences are CIA-massaged for the "red lights and alarms" to jump off the pages, but it comes down to this: Saddam had weapons in his country, and that was "bad", and by proving there were weapons in Iraq, it is proof of "Weapons-Of-Mass-Destruction-Programs-Related-Activies" (and don't you snicker and scoff and go thinking that ain't the same thing as actual verified and photographed physical WMD found in copious amounts in active warheads on launchpads, along with laboratory analysis of discovered vats brimming and bubbling with unpronouncable plagues! Cuz it is EXACTLY the same thing, mister. Kinda).
Kay's report would have us interpret that Iraq, a nation with minimum, inadequate self defense weapons was actually a moneyed, powerful, terrorist juggernaut teeming with doomsday scientist's laboring in a fevered pitch to meet the apocalyptic deadlines of the maniacal dictator, evil evil evil Saddam. Look how thick the report is!! It must mean vindication for the chickenhawks!!
Kee-riced....
I would love to hear Blix's response to the Kay report. Or Scott Ritters take on it. Anyone hear anything?

4. Here is a much better analysis of the Kay report from Fred Kaplan (Slate)
David Kay's interim report on whether Saddam Hussein had a serious program to build weapons of mass destruction—an investigation that Kay and 1,500 agents from the Pentagon's Iraq Survey Group have been conducting for three months now—is a shockingly lame piece of work.

President Bush has insisted that the report proves Saddam "was a danger to the world" and thus vindicates the war. Secretary of State Colin Powell chimed in that the Kay report left him "even more convinced … that we did the right thing."

These statements were mustered to counter criticisms from Democratic senators who, upon reading the report, proclaimed that it proves only that Bush had no basis for whipping up prewar fears of an imminent Iraqi danger.

A close reading of the actual, unclassified report—which Kay delivered as testimony on Oct. 2 to a panel of several congressional committees—reveals not only that Bush's critics are closer to the mark, but something much more significant: that Saddam wanted and, in some cases, tried to resurrect the weapons programs that he had built in the 1980s, but that the United Nations sanctions and inspections prevented him from doing so.
