Interesting event in Wichita tomorrow.
Yes, even in Kansas these things happen.

Anti-choicers canvassed area schools posting their repulsive graphics.

Students at West High are planning a protest tomorrow outside the church responsible for the schools event.

Interesting sidelight: this is the church that often posts signs that are clearly POLITICAL, yet nothing is done about them. But we continue to point them out, hoping something WILL be done eventually.

1. GO GET THEM!
YAY! I wish I could drive down there and support you all. This would not happen to be Terry Fox's church would it?

2. Not Fox's. Called Spirit One.
Interestingly, it's just down the street from an adult book store, where they have demonstrated in the past. However, some of the locals counter-protested enough that they've stopped that!

3. Spirit One?
That is an odd name for a church isn't it? You guys are loaded down there it sounds like. Oh well, we have Fred so don't take it as an insult. Spirit One, hmmmmm.

7. Yeh, it is odd..
This joker ("pastor") wasn't involved with the marriage amendment so's you could notice. Fox and Wright grabbed all the publicity with that one.

(BTW, it's really disgusting to see Wright strutting and preening during his sermons. Can't watch all of them, naturally, but I see enough to know he's pride right through, as the Elizabethans might put it.)

4. Good luck, it's a wonderful decision to act.
They are attempting to prey on high school people, and it's beautiful to see you're confronting their bullying.

Their will is NOT more important than your own. They DO NOT speak for gawd any more than anyone else. They are sick folks, with too much time on their hands.

I admire what you are doing in Wichita, which is a real hotbed of "pro-lifer" activity. It's nationally known for the radical, even violent "pro-lifers" who've haunted your town.

Abortion protesters take to streets, courtroom in Wichita

Wichita — A federal judge on Monday cleared the way for anti-abortion protesters to march this week in front of an abortion clinic, ruling the city's denial of a parade permit violated their First Amendment rights.
(snip)

"We are very thankful for this judge to allow us to bring Jesus to the very gates of hell," said the Rev. Flip Benham, national director of Operation Save America.

He also noted U.S. Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft had filed court papers in the case on behalf of the city just minutes before the hearing.

"We are miffed at our federal government and Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft filing a friend-of-court brief and having this judge stand in opposition to that is a great encouragement to many, many of us," Benham said.

5. Credit for acting goes to students from West High School.
Which shows real guts, I think. I plan to let them know how much I admire them...
