Would Jesus take Blue Cross Blue Shield? |
|
Talking with a repug the other day who absolutely balked and choked when I suggested Jesus was a liberal.
"You're out of your mind!" I was told.
I asked, "Was he a capitalist? What was the bread and fish thing? McDonald's?
"No. He-he... didn't want the wealthy to pay for the poor... uh."
"What?" At this point, I was incredulous.
It really seems as if the neocons are restructuring Christianity to accept a "greed is good" paradigm. The frightening part about it is that many are simply accepting that anything liberal is the devil's own.
What has happened to the brains of so many Americans?

Boiling down to their belief in the individual right to accumulate wealth vs. christianity's suggestions of social policy found in the bible.

Or Capitalist Christians. Christianity is applied selectively, mainly used to appease peoples guilty conscience. So why would they stop at that perversion?
If jesus did have to make a choice, and a national health care system was not an option. he would most likely choose and HMO not a PPO. He would probably have Kaiser.
