O'Lielly's Fresh Air Interview on NPR - HILARIOUS!
Here it is, for anyone who missed it:

http://freshair.npr.org/day_fa.jhtml?display=day&todayDate=10/08/2003

start playing, and if you want, just fastforward to about the 34th minute to hear him have his nervous breakdown.

it's an instant classic of conservative idiocy.

4. It was bizzzzarre.
A colleague and I heard it on the way home yesterday afternoon. O'Reilly's paranoia reached a sudden spike near the end for no discernible reason except that the interviewer wanted to ask a specific question about an uncomplimentary review of his book.

I wonder if O'Reilly ever lets his guests dictate what questions may or may not be asked, as he was attempting to do before he walked out.

5. He was playing to scrip. It spiked then because...
...he needed to stick around long enough to produce a long enough interview so that it would play for the whole hour. However, his goal all along was to knock women, pretend NPR is too liberal, and pretend he's a victim.

I'm sure he was looking at his watch the whole time. When he saw that there was enough in the can, he shifted his BS into a higher gear and that was it.

7. Incredible
You could write another Franken book just on the stuff this moron (and he definitely showed that) was saying. Things like "all kids in the 50's and 60's lived in homes with corporal punishment" and his spin on his years in England during Nam...honestly, this guy shows how really ignorant and pathetic he is.

It's interesting that the interview was conducted in O'Reilly's studio (on his own ground...easy to walk away). To think he was going to be "objective" (as if that word ever entered this moron's lexicon) was a joke from the outset...and anyone, right or left, knows that. His attempts at portraying himself as an "Independent" is laughable...only to be topped with how he claimed he didn't know he was a Registered Repugnican...uh duh...you'd think at least Fox would have vetted that one. Any time O'Reilly gets caught in a lie, it's always a misconception or "defamation". I had to save this interview just for all the morsels it offers and great ammo for my "No Spin Zone" acquaintences.

My only critique with the interviewer, and I know this is not her normal format and was at a disadvantage from the git-go with this asshole, was not being as firm against his obvious deceptions and misdirections. It was good she let him ramble...Larry King once said that the definition of a good interview is when you can take a tape (or file like this), randomly stop it in 10 places, and if your guest is talking in at least 7 or 8, you're doing your job...she did hers.

This interview really shows a psycopathic nature to this guy and I get a very sneaking feeling that one day, not too far off, this guy's gonna either be outted for some crazy pecadillo (aka Rush & drugs) or will just go so over the top even Murdoch can't save him. The guy has a lot of inner rage...not a healthy thing.
