Could it be...SATHAN?
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 07:07 PM by Plaid Adder
Back when I was living in Texas, we used to refer to Nathan Hecht--one of the most 'conservative,' if by 'conservative' you mean 'he who licks the boots of big business', Texas State Supreme Court justices on the bench--as 'Sathan.' Sathan was at the time rumored to be carrying on with Priscilla Owen, but there was no proof; maybe he just liked to hang out with her and discuss ways of finding for the company even though the law clearly favored the plaintiff. They were both so into that. I think corporatesexuality was their true orientation.

Anyhow, one bizarre thing about the coverage of the Miers nomination is the way Hecht's name keeps popping up. He is described as "having dated Miers" at some point. Well, if he's just her ex-boyfriend from back in the day, why are people still interviewing him about her? Is it because dating him was the closest she ever got to having judicial experience? He talks about her as if he still has some reason to be considered an expert.

I dunno. I kind of wonder if maybe she and Sathan still have a thing going and that's one reason she got the nod. Bush would know Sathan from being governor if not through Texas Republican party circles. We were surprised that he didn't try to nomiante Sathan himself, actually, given that we know his "judicial outlook" must be very appealing to Bush, and he is actually intelligent. If they're still together, maybe Miers is going to be Sathan's handpuppet instead of Scalia's. I'm sure if they're still friends--or if they're still dating--she would not be able to resist the urge to call him up with those tough questions.

After all, we've all been wondering what made her look like a good idea. Well...she is a church lady...so...could it be...SATHAN?!!

C ya,

The Plaid Adder
