Prosecutor asks NYT reporter to testify again

by Adam Entous

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal prosecutor has summoned New York Times reporter Judith Miller to make a second appearance on Wednesday before a federal grand jury investigating the leak of a CIA operative's identity, a New York Times official said.

Miller's notes could be significant because they suggest that Cheney's office knew who Wilson was ...

1. Miler lied? How surprising!
NOT! Hope she has a cell reserved in a more secure prison. One where she can't see visitors every day of the week.

6. I think we are now entering the phase when Miller, Rove, the WHIGers, ...
.... and others are all going to be rolling over each other trying to shave prison time from their respective resume

I just can't wait to hear what the AV recordings of Bolton and Miller reveal!!

In any event, Fitzgerald is a pro and we've known since Feb. 2005 from Judge Tatel's opinion that Fitzgerald had a major "National Security" case on the front burner.

So, now we will see just how many folk violated their SF312, violated Executive Order 12958, violated some or all of 18 U.S.C. § 793(d) & (g), perhaps violated the IIPA, and, on top of all of that, perjured, obstructed, conspired to obstruct, etc:

Thank you.

14. "outcome likely hangs on the inner workings of what has been dubbed the ..
... White House Iraq Group (WHIG). Formed in August 2002, the group, which included Messrs. Rove and Libby, worked on setting strategy for selling the war in Iraq to the public in the months leading up to the March 2003 invasion. The group likely would have played a significant role in responding to Mr. Wilson's claims.

There are signs that prosecutors now are looking into contacts between administration officials and journalists that took place much earlier than previously thought, the Wall Street Journal will report Wednesday, RAW STORY can reveal. Excerpts from the coming story:

Earlier conversations are potentially significant, because that suggests the special prosecutor leading the investigation is exploring whether there was an effort within the administration at an early stage to develop and disseminate confidential information to the press that could undercut former Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his wife, Central Intelligence Agency official Valerie Plame.

And, Condi, Matlin, ..... and what they needed to "undercut," as many of us have recognized for a very long time, was NOT Joe Wilson -- it was Ms Plame, her CIA team and Brewster, Jennings & Co., in order to stifle the reality, already exposed by the VIPS several times prior to March 19, 2003, that Bush, Cheney and Powell systematically deceived the Congress, the UN, many of the US allies and their bosses, the American people, into an un-Constitutional and otherwise illegal war of aggression on Iraq.

The list of those indicted and the list of the laws they have broken should extend as far as the horizon.

Peace.

...under which she was released, i.e. that she would only have to testify about Scooter Libby and nothing else? Or is Fitzgerald going to press her for more?

... we'll all just have to wait and see.

One can surmise that they must have had a bunch of nitty-gritty to span 8 hours, and need to return for more!

12. it's not just about Plame
United States Court of Appeals
FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CIRCUIT
Argued December 8, 2004 Decided February 15, 2005
Reissued April 4, 2005
No. 04-3138
IN RE: GRAND JURY SUBPOENA, JUDITH MILLER

In the meantime, on August 12 and August 14, grand jury
subpoenas were issued to Judith Miller, seeking documents and
testimony related to conversations between her and a specified
government official “occurring from on or about July 6, 2003,
to on or about July 13, 2003, . . . concerning Valerie Plame
Wilson (whether referred to by name or by description as the
wife of Ambassador Wilson) or concerning Iraqi efforts to
obtain uranium.”
Miller refused to comply with the subpoenas
and moved to quash them. The District Court denied Miller’s
motion to quash. Thereafter, the court found that Miller had
refused to comply without just cause and held her in civil
contempt of court also. She also has appealed.

I like how the bases were covered by Fitzgerald, e.g., "concerning Valerie Plame Wilson (whether referred to by name or by description as the wife of Ambassador Wilson)..."
