Man with bow, arrow is arrested on train

MONTCLAIR – In a scene reminiscent of the Wild West, police shot and wounded a man who allegedly took over a freight train with a bow and arrow.

Juventino Vallejo-Camerena boarded the Union Pacific train about 10:40 p.m. Sunday as it was stopped for a signal and threatened the engineer and conductor, the only people on board, police said. The crew escaped and called police.

The man was aboard the train when officers arrived at the scene in western San Bernardino County. The man cocked the bow and pointed the arrow at officers, who opened fire. Vallejo-Camerena was shot in his wrist and forearm, but the wounds weren't life-threatening, police said. The man was treated at a hospital, and taken to jail on a variety of charges.

3. A bow and arrow is a real weapon.
Don't run it down.

It can kill you JUST as dead as a gun. And JUST as quickly.

15. Even if you didn't ...
... the gold on a standard 4' (122cm) archery target is 9.6" in diameter.

Compare this to the size of an adult's head ... and think how much
easier it gets when the range comes in from 100 yards ...

(Just saying! :hi:)

4. Or not having meds in the first place.
Welfare medical care in the USA is worse than in some third-world nations.

9. If he was homeless,...
...where did he get the weapon? A decent wooden reflex bow will cost you a few hundred dollars.

13. Who says it was a good bow?
You can find fiberglass compound bows in the trash sometimes.

Bow-hunting for Jaayzuz, I'd guess. Does anyone know when locomotive season opens in Kolley-4-knee-yaa? Even the great Fred Bear never bagged a choo-choo.
