Clark to Attend NAACP Forum
NAACP "Carolina Roundtable" Forum
We just got official confirmation from the Scheduling Team that General Clark will be attending the NAACP "Carolina Roundtable" forum hosted by the South Carolina NAACP at its Annual Convention and Civil Rights Conference.

The event will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina at 4:00 PM EST at the Hilton Charlotte & Towers, 222 E. Third Street.

This leaves Dean and Kerry as the last holdouts. I hope they both attend.

1. This is terrific news.
Clark has stood up for minorities throughout his military career. I am glad that he is going to keep his credibility on these issues. :)

2. I hope he kicks some BFEE ass
Really. I'm a partisan Dean supporter but Clark needs to go after Bush this weekend or all we'll hear about is KOBE.

believe me, Clark can do us all a lot of good since he has the media's attention.

4. Yeah, That's a Tough One All Right
I wasn't aware of the particulars on Dean. Or Kerry, for that matter.

11. Dean's and Kerry's previous commitments
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20031007-1705-democrats-naacp.html

Kerry, the Massachusetts senator, is scheduled to campaign in New Hampshire Friday. Former Vermont Gov. Dean plans to attend parents weekend with his daughter at college.

12. I Would Give Dean a Pass on This, But Not Kerry
I think the NAACP forum is more important than campaigning in NH. But that's just me.

6. It'll be interesting
to compare the response from the NAACP crowd to the different candidates.

13. Second Entry Down
After the laundry list of debate-watching parties.

No idea about the coverage or timing, though. Actually, I think it's on Friday, but I don't know more than that.

14. Very glad Clark will be there....
He NEEDS as much exposure as possible. Gov Dean has family responsibilities and they most definitely should come first. I'm not sure about Kerry, but, if he doesn't show, I'd ask how much notice he was given of this event. Presidential candidates have their schedules tightly packed months in advance and if this was a late offer to participate, I think Kerry deserves a bye too. Its always best to be there, but you can't be two places at once.

15. Great news
The AA Democrates are the one group that acted like, and voted like big D Democrates in California. Being invited to address a group that "gets it,' is an honor.

And yeah_AA Californians pay car taxes too. The win in California was not the work of the DLC or the DNC, it was the result of registered Dems voting like clueless lemmings.

BTW, Clark was scheduled to have a big fundraiser in San Fran on Friday night. Anyone know anything about this?

16. Dean had attended the National NAACP forum earlier in the year
when the other top contenders were declared person non gratis by Mfume.

This event is a state NAACP sponsored event and I'm sure Dean would go if he could.
