48 percent want Democratic-controlled Congress
In addition, with 13 months until the 2006 congressional elections, 48 percent say they prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, compared with 39 percent who want the Republicans to control Capitol Hill.

1. And this is before the Dems really start to put together
and agenda to sell in '06. There have been a lot of fires to put out this year and the Dem strategy for '06 is still forming. If and when they actually do put together a coherent agenda to place before the voters, it should result in an even better percentage. (Unless the circular firing squad again damns all Dems to electoral hell again.)

2. Time to strike while the iron is hot
The time is now to begin the fight for Congress, because the momentum is high now and it will get even higher.

3. That's great. And there are still 13% up for grabs.
If we split them, we got it!

4. It's not just about an agenda.
Democrats (in the general public) have very clear values and actually agree on most issues. Unfortunately, our so-called leaders find themselves unable to even vote Democratic values, let alone speak out on them on the floor. When our leaders start voting as if they care about voters, voters will start caring about them.
