Crooked politicians now out of office compete to see who can produce self-justifying memoirs as quickly as the public will believe them. Points are scored for stabbing former colleagues in the back, covering up their own incompetence, and fake conversions to other religious denominations to explain why they're really a reformed man now, honestly, and can I have a radio chat show please?
