Some gamers made a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas mod called "Defamation of Character: A Jack Thompson Murder Simulator" in response to Thompsons' ridiculous proposal for the production of an anti-video game-game where the developers themselves are targets. He put $10,000 up on the block and said that if such a game was made, he'd give the $10,000 to charity.

After the game was made, this is what he said:

"I'm not interested and won't be commenting on the mod. The satirical piece entitled 'A Modest Video Game Proposal' was intended to highlight the patent hypocrisy and recklessness exhibited by the video game industry's willingness to target cops, women, homosexuals, and other groups with some of their violent games. To be fair, though, you can't expect a bunch of gamers to understand the satire if they think that Jonathon Swift, the author of 'A Modest Proposal,' is the name of a new Nike running shoe...

...I will say this though, the 'video game community' (what's next, 'the necromancy community'?) surely seems exercised about someone who is a 'joke' and who is accomplishing nothing. You all seem rather bothered and worried about a nonentity. God is in this battle, and I am privileged to be a foot soldier. You all should be concerned, not about me, but about Him."

So... he's a cockbite. That's the best word I can use to describe him. He is a cockbite.

Incidentally, the Child's Play charity founded by Gabe and Tycho of Penny Arcade (www.penny-arcade.com) has raised over half a million dollars in toys for children's hospitals over the past few years, and this year they're going national.

I mean, usually I can think of other terms. Douchebag, motherfucker, jackass, douchenbagen if I wish to place something in a German context... but for Jack Thompson, cockbite just seems like the most perfect term.

His schtick is like a poorly written, arrogant, downright mean video game-fetish version of Wertham's "Seduction of the Innocent." Comparing himself to Jonathan (Jonathon? Fucker can't even spell right) Swift is a painful laugh.

I could almost look upon Thompson's "challenge" in sour humor if it was JUST a challenge, an intended satire. But this fucker put $10,000 on the line for charity. That's making a joke out of charity. And he calls himself a foot soldier of God?!
