So I was s trolling through the hospital today, and ran into |
|
an old friend, a nurse. She is pissed at this Administration, borrowing, spending, getting soldiers killed, giving money away we don't have, etc. She knows the middle class is getting hosed and the wealthy are getting wealthier. She refuses to invest in the stock market. I think she is buying gold.
Ran into a doctor I know and I asked about his oldest son being in college. He said he was going to college but wants a career in the Marines. Said he tried to talk him out of it, and is hoping everything will work out. He made a comment about things getting "better over there" this weekend, but he hadn't heard about five soldiers dying on Saturday. He also expressed concerns that we're gonna wish we hadn't gone in the first place. I told him I'd enough three years ago and had worked on the Clark campaign in 2004.
These people are died-in-the-wool Republicans. Nice people, generally ill-informed.

4. That's how low these stories rate lately. It's routine now, sadly. |

6. Thanks. I was as gentle as I could be. |

I'd bet my bottom dollar that both of these people voted for * last year, too, but mostly because they "couldn't stomach Kerry," as I've heard many say.
I like that bumper sticker, "Had enough?" just to get people thinking.
