Any Firefox users out there? How do you
delete cookies? I went and asked, says to go to Task Bar, but I can't even find that. Help for this technically challenged person is welcomed!:)

6. That's my problem. I don't have 'Privacy' as a sub-category.
All I have are Fonts & Colors/Language/Default Browser/Connections (full of stuff about proxies). There is no privacy ctegory.

16. Mine is the same as yours.
I'm stymied too - just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone.

And there are no "preferences" under edit for me.

17. In that options menu you're in...
...where you say there's things like Font&Colors and all that? It's because you're in the "General" sub-category of options. I'm not sure how Firefox looks in your OS, but in mine there's a white window just to the left of Fonts&Colors, etc. That's where the icon for the "Privacy" subcategory should be. Once you click on that 'Privacy' icon the 'delete cookies' button is second from the bottom.

4. control-shift-delete
I found this keyboard shortcut yesterday by accident:

CTRL-SHIFT-DELETE

brings up a handy popup menu that prompts for cleaning private data from the browser any time!

enjoy! I guess if you are on a MAC that's still control-shift-delete.

The other posts maybe referring to the Windows version, but on Linux it's under the Edit menu on my version.

trust me. press all three characters on your keyboard at once.

it will bring up a cleaning your personal data menu that will let you kill cookies or whatever you want.

22. Nah just technically nerdly
If I said press ctrl-ALT-delete then I could be considered a smartass.
:) ie. if i told her to reboot her pc by accident. (I think the OP's got a mac, running firefox v1.0 )

I think that her problem is that she's using firefox 1.0 on a mac, and the kb shortcut options are the same for 1.5.

20. I ran firefox for about 6 months
I proceeded to download the Google home page personalisation and my computer failed completely. Firefox would not allow me to do anything.

I dumped it and went back with Windows ME. No more problems .

25. I too have seen ff go scewy
depending on how much plug-ins you get ff can be unstable, but in my experience a clean reinstall with no 3rd party plug-ins has always fixed unexplained glitches. (except yahoo mail.. its login still freaks with my firefox 1.5 on pc)

I wasn't looking closely enough on the options page; the icons on the left is where I needed to go but didn't see them. How did I miss them?
Thank you all for your help! :toast:
