Good online source for Tamiflu? |
|
Has anyone order Tamiflu from a Canadian Pharmacy or similar? I can't even get an appointment with my doctor until Dec. 18th!

1. WHO warns against bird flu 'scaremongering' |
|
GENEVA (AFP) - The World Health Organisation (WHO) warned against "scaremongering" as avian influenza gained a toehold in Europe. The UN health agency also advised against panic buying of the antiviral drug Tamiflu, seen as a possible first line of defence if a widely feared human flu pandemic strikes.http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20051017/hl_afp/healthfluwhorisks_051017190854

3. no tamiflu rush in France |
|
they just said that IF - remember IF - any humans were infected here, the Army would distribute the pills for free to the population. France has stocked 200 million doses, the population is 60 millions. Other measures that would be taken are distribution of masks and restrictions in transportation and gatherings.
An army of vets are inspecting every poultry farm, hunyers are obliged to report any sick migrant birds.
I don't sense any panic here, except from chicken farmers who are afraid of decreased sales.

4. Tamiflu will most probably NOT HELP against H5N1 |
|
Let me tell it to you again.
The bird flu virus (H5N1) is not the same viral strain as the usual flu. It's called bird flu because BIRDS die of it mostly.
The FEW (few as in 'several hundered') cases where people contracted it was by getting it from birds.
Tamiflu will most probably NOT HELP against a H5N1 infection and bird flu in humans has a DEATH RATE of almost 50% !!!
You only have to worry about bird flu when it mutates and is able to go from human to human. Only THEN we have an epidemic. The WHO is expecting this to happen in the coming 6 months.
Instead of trying to get Tamiflu I recommend people to get yourself a good stock of food and bottled water for when the epidemic really hits. Just stay home...that's what I'd do if a disease with 50% death rate was on the rampage...
And remember, you can't take pills AGAINST it, you can only take them in advance and hope the vaccine was designed to work for H5N1 too.

5. Since it won't work, why are EU countries stocking up on it? |
|
Tamiflu is the anti-viral CDC researchers use when they are exposed to flu virus.

7. Doesn't it bother anyone that Rumsfeld was chairman of the board of |
|
the company that created Tamiflu?
BTW... someone posted an article yesterday saying that it was ineffective against this strain of avian flu.
