<snip>.It is worth stressing here: there is nothing illegal or inappropriate about conducting research about your opponents – and Wilson was clearly an enemy of the President’s policy. It is important to be able to inform the public about why someone like Wilson might not be credible. But if you do it, and you get asked about it later by investigators, you have to be truthful about what you did. I am assuming (and, candidly, hoping) that Libby and others were truthful.
HA HA .... uh, yeah... ya know, given their histories, why wouldn't they be truthful?

3. Problems with the Freeper's theory |
|
Here are two of the problems I see with the Freeper's theory.
1) I believe that Wilson is viewed as a whistleblower, a status that is defined by and protected from prosecution by federal law. To qualify for that status, Wilson and his conduct in making disclosures about government business must meet certain criteria.
2) I believe Wilson was or had served in the diplomatic corps, but I haven't seen any suggestion that his trip to Niger was classified or that he was under cover in Niger. Perhaps I missed something and am mistaken on this, but I believe he went as a private citizen, but not particularly under cover. Am I wrong, or didn't he go because he already had contacts, trust and credibility in certain circles in Niger?
3) Wilson did not out his wife. He did not out anyone.

14. He had positions in Africa and Iraq |

prior to the Niger trip. He was an effective diplomat with many contacts in Africa and the MidEast.
A little research and you will know why Bush Sr. considered him a hero....at one time.

...informing the board that Wilson was going to be indicted! So I asked her if she was willing to bet real money on that one. Last time I checked, there was no answer.

I have seen MANY freeper types reporting this on MANY blogs..... Here's my take- It's obvious that one side is not firmly planted in reality. Either they are whackos, or we are. No middle ground. I propose that the side proven wrong admit their error, and shut down all their web sites and blogs, just pull the plug and disappear. I am willing to make this wager. I mean, really, If it is announced that Fitz has indicted Wilson and Plame, I will be stunned and ask myself "how could I have been so offbase?".
I haven't found anyone willing to put up on their side yet. I suppose it is just wishful thinking on my part, but what the hell...

So, nobody did anything wrong in outing a CIA agent, unless Wilson did it himself? Huh? So, for Wilson to be indicted, the same people who said no laws were broken would have to admit laws were broken. Well, boys, which is it?

Isn't this just the most interesting conspiracy story of all times?
Sad it is real and it has costs so many lives and so much damage to our country...sad it isn't just fiction.
