start your emails!

(if nothing else, let's get Bernie on AAR proper also for some live overnight talk!)

1. Syndicated?
Hell, his station won't even let him be properly archived!

I had a daily archive of his show (by his permission) that his station manager ordered me to shut down.

2. I find it maddening re: KGO
I really like Bernie Ward A LOT. It irritates me to no end. I like to listen to "God Talk" on Sunday mornings and the signal I pick-up is always interrupted by some evangelical idiot. Hence, I must have my laptop plugged in and ready to go to pick-up Bernie Ward.

As for his show - yes the archives - they are not only not there anymore, the ones you go back to listen to are often changed and edited on KGO archives I have noticed. :grr:

We really need more radio hosts like Bernie Ward (and Taliaferro too) that are not being held hostage by the radio stations that sponsor them.

The one person I really DISLIKE on KGO is that Dr. Bill guy. :puke:

I don't know why they don't dump his butt as I bet no one listens to nor cares about his archive if he has one.

And then we have Karel; tolerable to a point but eek he gets on my nerves at times.

We need to keep Bernie Ward. This is my hope! That we can at least keep him and Taliaferro!

:kick:

3. Dr. Bill
Wow I agree with every point you made about the KGO radio hosts :)

Dr. Bill is the most smug and annoying patronizing dork on KGO, not even right wing, but just annoyingly conservative, and treats his callers like children.

I wonder if he's carrying an older demographic that KGO is trying to grab during those hours.

4. lol re: Dr. Bill
Yep that guy is one big creepola!

The other night (a couple of weeks ago) Karel was about to sign off and Dr. Bill was their getting ready to take over and Karel and him got into a snipping fight. It was actually rather funny I thought. I don't think that Karel like him a whole hell of a lot either, especially given his conservative stanch and his obvious agenda. :puke: *whew*

11. What a Dweeb!
That Whattenburg is a real idiot! I emailed him once and he sure can't take criticism. I told him he may know alot about science and other subjects..but politics he's a real idiot. I told him he is the type to get a nobel peace prize but has no common sense and would probably step out in front of a bus. He emailed me back and cursed me out. What a real man!
..the moron!

9. Dr. Bill is good if he sticks to just answering science questions...

Even his stances and Q/A on MTBE and related scandals have been good to listen to at times. That being said, any time he starts going into "eco-frauds" or his other political stances, I also tune him out. I don't know what Dr. Dean Edell's stance is on balancing political questions with his informative questions on medicine, etc., but you can tell he's probably more liberal if you read between the lines, but he doesn't make a point of doing a lot of political commentary on his show. Perhaps KGO could tell Dr. Bill to model himself after Dean Edell, since they are both "resident experts" and stay off the politics that Dr. Bill doesn't know anything about. I'm getting the feeling that Dr. Bill feels he has to "balance out" the liberal bent at KGO (though KGO has folks like Gene Burns that certainly isn't "liberal" but more Libertarian). KGO tried to get a more conservative voice on for a while (Dr. Laura), but yanked her after many listeners bitched about her too much. Dr. Bill just has to understand that most of KGO listeners just aren't RWers. They'll go to other radio stations in the bay area for that info.

5. I wonder if Sirius even talked to him at all!
I recommended that they try to get he and Ray Taliafierro for the late night live radiocasts for a second Sirius channel to replace Air America. If Bernie was "wanting" to be picked up, it just speaks more for Sirius's stupid lack of concern of keeping their strategic advantage they used to have with the progressive listener. Reinforces my decision to drop them.

10. Bernie Ward - truly a rare and valuable man
I agree - he is probably my favorites too. He has a profound intellect that you don't find with any of the others in this business. I really like his perspectives on just about everything he brings up from God to politics.

12. I totally Agree.
I rate Randi Rhodes number one with Bernie a close second and perhaps a tie for first.
