ROVE?

If Rove/Bush and Cheney/Libby really are at war with each other, and Rove wants to save his own butt, why wouldn't he sing to Fitzgerald? We all know Rove has no moral character, so ratting out some of the Bush administration would be no problem for him. He'd save himself and Bush in the process.

Just, another theory to ponder.

1. Rove makes the most sense
given events.

15. I disagree about Rove
I think it is more likely that Rove kept getting confronted with the truth during his 4 1/2 interview with Fitz. Then he went home saying - how did Fitz know that? Hummmm. Who talked?

Of course, this is wishful thinking on my part as I do not want Rove to walk away without jail time.

2. I don't think there is any way Rove could get out of this.

He's in far too deep. And he's a 'true beliver'- he'd die before dishonoring the cause.

8. True, if he was a true believer.
However, IMO, his character doesn't strike me as honorable. If someone crosses him (such as Libby/Cheney) it's payback time.

GONZALES. Just wondering how far he is into all of this.

Peace.

5. Doesn't Fitzgerald have to answer to Gonzales?
That's a scary thought!

6. Another good possibility
Gonzales notified them too quickly of the impending investigation. He could cop a deal and be safe.

4. He has plenty to lose
and he's testified 4 times. He also could be a fall guy. Plenty of reason to out someone else.

14. Great minds think alike!
Sorry I missed your post. I probably would have just posted on yours.
I do disagree with you on one point. Cheney and Libby voluntarily taking the fall. They seem too egocentric and selfish to sacrifice themselves for the sake of another.

12. No, it will be DeLay who cops a deal
when he realizes just how far the WH has abandoned him, and it will come to that.

13. Who would most want to nail Cheney (given the latest headlines)?
Perhaps it is Rove--his allegience was never to Cheney...

16. Maybe LIbby rolled
because of potential perjury and OoJ charges?

Miller was important because she proved he lied and tried to Obstruct Justice, etc?

These are serious enough it gave Fitz bargaining power to get Libby to roll over.

17. Good point!
Would be a good enough reason to bring Rove back into the Grand Jury for the 4th time.

If true, what did Rove say when confronted with the WH dirty laundry? Did he squeal as well?
