(This is sort of a "good news" "bad news" article. The good news is - well the article! The bad news is, the attempt by some in Wake County to try and keep counselors from helping kids with sexual orientation issues.)

Did God make a mistake? I don't mean with giraffes, penguins or even the 1976 AMC Pacer. He obviously created those for the giggles.
I mean with gay people.

There's a proposal before the State Board of Education that says school guidance counselors and social workers should know how to deal with all sorts of discrimination students may face, including sex roles as well as race, creed and national origin.

Professionals say it would help counselors and social workers do a better job if universities would include sexual orientation and gender identity training in their education counseling curriculum.

That reasonable suggestion set those who proudly proclaim themselves guardians of "traditional family values" howling with outrage.

will go a LONG way in countering the outside world. Moms and Dads call, write, or attend a PFLAG meeting in your area. Your gay children need YOUR love and support more than ever in this current climate of intolerance. I say this speaking from my own experience.

Then he created STEVE, too.

They like to say God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, but he did make Steve. And he makes him in every part of the world, irrespective of religion or race or height or weight.

God loves gays. He creates new ones every day.
