Steroid Boy Stumbles Out Of The Gate
Ah-nuld's off to one helluva start...

"He also called on Gov. Gray Davis not to make any more appointments or sign legislation in the waning days of his administration, although Schwarzenegger acknowledged it is Davis' right to do so.
"I would like it really if he doesn't sign anymore bills, as far as that goes," Schwarzenegger said.
In Sacramento, Davis press secretary Steven Maviglio responded that Davis will continue to make appointments and act on legislation. He added, "The governor-elect might be interested in learning that bills that Gov. Davis does not act on before October 13th automatically become law."
In California, the governor may veto a bill, sign it or allow it to become law without signing it.
Maviglio noted that during the transition period when Davis was taking office, outgoing Gov. Pete Wilson made more than 400 appointments. Wilson was Schwarzenegger's campaign co-chairman. "

4. Didn't you love the call for Federal aid from the girly man?
So the rest of us are supposed to pay the car tax for him? Uh-uh.

3. the audit is a way for the Republicans
to go after democratic contributors. It is nothing more than war on democratic funding sources. If companies contribute to the Republicans they will go through unscathed.

This is the first step in the rape of CA.

8. Curb your paranoia
"Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger introduced the key members of his transition team Thursday, saying the first thing they would do is audit the state's books to find out just how serious California's deficit is. "

That was the STATE's books...not the Democratic party's. The state books are not going to have a word about campaign contributions.

Of course, didn't Steroid boy claim that he needed to be governor because he KNEW the state was in trouble?

14. This Is Patently Stupid For A 2nd Reason
California doesn't have an internal audit group in gov't. I thought all the states did internal audit (not that the auditors are all competent or clean), and then had periodic audits of the auditors. They do in Illinois. That's how they caught , Ryan's cronies, Kerner and Powell. That goes back from last year to the mid-60's, so it's been that way for a long time.

Secondly, a transition team is going to audit the books of a state that big. Going back how far? Until they find the root of the fiscal problem. Well, how long will it take to go through that many expenditure budgets and subbudgets back 10 years. Figure they might be done around 2015?

This is just a stupid idea meant to obfuscate the fact that they really have no idea as to how they're going to fix anything. A smokescreen and nothing more.

6. I hope Davis is not too noble
He could set Ah-nuld up for the screwing of his life, and while I don't think Davis should monkey wrench the entire works, I think he could pour a little sand into the gears and give Musclehead a little heavy lifting to do right from day one. Remember Ah-nuld, a pump is bettah dan cumming. Or so I've heard.

7. Appoint, appoint, appoint
sign a bill, sign a bill, sign a bill, sign a bill....I hope Davis does exactly what Arnold is asking him not to do. His hand should be in pain from signing so many bills. hehe...I liked that little legislative information about not having to sign a bill.. it becomes law if it's not signed. :) You would "think" the Governor of a state would know how his legislature works, eh?

I hope Davis makes Arnold life a living hell by doing exactly what Arnold doesn't want. What? Time to play nice? I don't think so.

9. I would hope that Davis is literally working round the clock to get things
signed and to seal whatever records he needs to seal. I wonder if the Clinton Library would harbor/protect Davis' records?

13. Bush told President Clinton the same thing
Bush told President Clinton the same thing during the transition period.

It was sort of a warning.
