What's your VISION of the future? What are you keeping in your
mind's eye for our future, for your own futures, for the future of our country...our world? What's the most positive outcome you can imagine? What would you like to have in your life from here on out? What's the best possible scenario?

What's your vision?

3. Best possible scenario?
That our federal government will never again be an arm of a huge, ruthless international business conglomerate.

That never again will elections be stolen, nor decent law-abiding citizens who registered to vote in good conscience be disenfranchised because they're black or poor.

That elected officials and their appointees act within the letter and the spirit of the law, and that if they bend or break those laws to achieve their own twisted ends they are punished and thrown in jail.

That Congress bothers to investigate and call into question any item on the president's agenda that doesn't pass the smell test. That Congress doesn't simply rubber stamp any bill or resolution put before it because there's a plane idling at the airport to whisk them away to some sunny clime.

Somebody pinch me. I must be living in a dream.

4. War, more war and more war
I see the United States becoming increasingly violent against states that oppose them, starting with Syria, Iran and half a dozen other Gulf states, then Argentina, Cuba, Canada and half a dozen others.

It will only end with a bloody civil war with street-to-street fighting in the United States.

8. I want to re-experience the 70s.
I came of age in an almost post-Vietnam era. War was over. Abortion was legal. Watergate guaranteed that bad politicians were gone. Guys grew their hair out. Jesus Freaks were "cool" people. Everybody smoked doped. (Probably even Jesus.)

Then the 80s happened, and it's been downhill since then. Everything I took for granted has been shot to shit.

10. it's always darkest before dawn
In the future, we'll recognize and share the commons, allowing all to live in comfort with our natural, god-given wealth.
We'll have full employment, stable money, and real democracy.
We'll have mastered transparent and fair elections.
We'll enjoy many personal freedoms.
We'll live in a world nearly free of crime and war.
All because we learned to share the commons.

15. If things keep going the way they are
Moving back to the family farm and trying to grow and hunt enough food to keep us all alive after the economy nosedives. Plowing the fields and riding into town with horses after there's not enough diesel and gasoline for the tractors and cars. Using firewood to heat the house after there's not enough natural gas for the gas furnace.

Of course, some people see me as a pessimist....

Voting is the unimpeded right of every citizen in America.

Poverty is a serious concern of every administration.

The United States has withdrawn from Iraq.

I have been elected Senator on a platform that espouses the values underlying the above ideas.
