Poll question: Terror Alert next week?
We're waiting for Fitzgerald to hand down indictments -- signs that there will be indictments are there ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=5132320&mesg_id=5132320 )

Blather has it the indictments will be revealed on Wednesday 10/26/05

so when / where do you think there will be a terra-alert?

5. have you noticed that the last two alerts
in the past the spews-media have reported that "HOMELAND INSECURITY has issued a terror warning/alert for blah-blah-blah"

but NYC subway and Baltimore Tunnel alerts were "activated" by the mayor and governor -- NOT HOMELAND INSECURITY.

looks to me like the bushies are throwing up a buffer zone so when the terra-lert turns out to be false - it can be blamed on local/state officials

Next week's alert (before/after the indictments) will most likely follow this pattern. I doubt it will be a nation-wide, raise the color code.

I also predict the alert will be in Washington DC - since that is where Fitzgerald will be making his announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if the alert happens simultaneously with Fitzgerald's announcement.

I'll even go out on a limb and say there will be (at the least)... unconfirmed reports of explosions ... just to increase the panic levels and divert the media

2. i vote for as far away from DC as possible!
as we saw with the DC protest, the corporate media is only capable of covering one big story (Rita) at a time.

Somewhere to agitate the base.. A "pious, All American, Gawd Fearing, English Speaking", small to mid-sized, mid-American City.

7. Good point - he's losing support from his former die-hard
supporters. This would get them on the bandwagon again.

Then again, these people possess more vindictiveness than intelligence and they just might go for the big, liberal coastal city anyway.

6. elsewhere (comment)...
they're going to start taking their one, two & three stop fear & eternal war shopping on the road any time soon is my thought. it's been awhile since they've mentioned dropping a span out of the golden gate, or bay bridge. they see how easy it is to panic new england authority & populace at the mouth of a tunnel, and congress will care about nothing but their own hides; their easy to see running away from a baby carriage full of, "BOO!" so we'll see if terror spreads like butter out west. i wonder why nothing ever happens on the street rumsfeld lives on  or poppy bush

9. before indictment - elsewhere
All of the cities listed above have had
serious false alarms recently.
My guess is somewhere out west other
than Los Angeles around indictment time.
If BushCo plays it right, they can keep
it going all week.

Boston: Already had a big hoax January 20th.
NYC: Just had one. New Yorkers yawned.
Washington D.C.: Had one last week. Too close to the action.
Los Angeles: Recent scare with Folsom "terror cell".
Down South: Too busy with hurricanes.

10. Don't You Think the Fake Alerts
are starting to make people stop worrying? I think the crying wolf has reached its limit. Not saying they won't cry but the villagers are starting to ignore it.
