Didn't Limbaugh Lie about his addiction
I thought I heard him say a couple of days ago that he had no knowledge of the drugs. If that is the case, let's document it here.

1. Of course he did! Junkies lie...
To their family, friends, and themselves. Anyone who will listen.

It's what they do.

3. I did not hear him say that
What he did say, was that he had no knowledge of any investigation. But, if there was, he would be happy to cooperate. smooth, eh?

Man seeks to escape himself in myth, and does so by any means at his disposal. Drugs, alcohol, or lies. Unable to withdraw into himself, he disguises himself. Lies and inaccuracy give him a few moments of comfort.

The point of quotations is that one can use another's words to be insulting.

5. He also said he is addicted to prescription pain medication
yet he's been obtaining them illegally...

so they aren't "prescription" pain medications, they're illegal drugs

7. Rush was outed by his maid
So much for his honesty. But then, when has Rush ever been known to tell the truth?

9. and subsequentially lied about his HEARING LOSS, apparently
I doubt anyone is going to believe his bullshit excuses anymore

-snip-

Limbaugh reported two years ago that he had lost most of his hearing because of an autoimmune inner-ear disease. He had surgery to have an electronic device placed in his skull to restore his hearing.

Research has found that abuse of opiate-based painkillers like OxyContin can lead to profound hearing loss caused by damage to the inner ear, said Dr. Gail Ishiyama, an assistant professor at the UCLA department of neurology. She could not confirm that was Limbaugh's case without access to his medical history.

10. Chronic excruciating back pain? Why don't I buy that?
I *know* people who have suffered horrific pain. I know of one of them who became dependent on opiate painkillers, and had terrible troubles because she developed a tolerance for them and had no pain control -- but that was about 25 years ago.

Other people I know of who became addicted to painkillers were generic substance abusers, who kinda sorta needed the drugs for the pain, but really loved the high most of all.

I kinda sorta have a sense that Pigboy is of the latter group. Sorry, but I just do not buy into the idea that an obscenely wealthy man is unable to obtain pain management through orthodox medical channels. Oxycontin is just one of a range of options out there; if he had legitimate medical need, a good doctor would see to it that he obtained relief from any number of them. Severe pain is a horrible problem, and DUH! doctors know this, and there are even doctors who specialize in pain management. If Pigboy had just had his benefits cut off by his employer in his low-wage job, I could see that he might have need to obtain his precious pain relief illegally -- but hell, I don't believe that a multi-millionaire cannot obtain adequate medical care!

What sets Oxycontin off from other methods of pain relief is that it is used as a recreational drug du jour - a nice, reliable heroin high, I'm told. And that's what I think Pigboy was doing with it.

Elvis Presley abused prescription drugs, yet considered himself a tough "law and order" man, even going so far as to try to obtain a DEA badge from the Justice Department! He was high as a kite 24/7, but *never* thought of himself as a junkie.

But I don't think Pigboy is as crazy as Elvis; he is a hypocrite of a different kind. He was using power drugs for recreational purposes, but he thought that he was not a "substance abuser" as long as he didn't get caught ! He has been immersed in the culture of authoritarian hypocrisy for long that he has totally lost touch with reality.

He's got a good lawyer, and his lawyer is lying for his druggie ass. I believe that the story of medical need for these drugs being the source of his addiction is a fabrication, because he got caught. His lawyer has advised him that he is in deep doodoo, so he has to put on a little play about how he is taking Personal ResponsibilityTM to conquer his addiction. BULLSHIT! He's going into rehab because he fears jail time -- and well he might! There's a lot of non-violent drug offenders serving hard time because of the War on Drugs, and he is afraid to face the consequences of the punitive, abusive system he has arrogantly trumpeted these many years.

No sympathy from me. Sorry -- I'm all cried out before I get to Pigboy's "addiction".

12. Yes, he lied about the origin of his hearing loss, soaked his audience
for sympathy about his hearing problems by asking them to not have pity on him...all the while knowing that his hearing problems were caused by his drug addiction. He lied by saying that he was addicted to prescription pain medication. You don't buy 'precription' pain medication on the black market from drug dealers. Just to mention a few of his lies.
