Rush, a victim of drug companies or petty addict?
Petty addict is my guess, well, so what? Most of us have a drug of choice, be it alcohol, prescription drugs or other not so legal things. So what I say, 'tis a minor hypocrisy! So what?:toast:

Rush is a douche bag but I don't care about the drugs! Like they would use the Patriot act against him like a meth dealer? huh?

25. Not a 'petty addict' He's a wealthy addict!
Every bit as addicted and every bit as guilty of a crime as poor minority crack addicts.

2. Certainly no victim
Laughable. Kind of like the people who blame McDonalds for making their kids fat.

5. Neither. He is a phony.
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 08:58 PM by DemsUnite
Jeff Christie is a frightened, insecure man who hides behind the mask that is "Rush Limbaugh."

He numbs his self-loathing through drugs.

7. Speaking as a former...
Cocaine user and Alcohol Self-Medicator(so my therapist tells me...), the only real thing an addict is a victim of is his or her own hubris and stupidity. We can all handle it. It won't get us. We're in control.

Horse Shit.

Yes, it deserves to be called an illness, for that is what it is. They have scientically proven that alcoholism can be treated, effectively and over the long term, with seratonin antagonists. That shows that the roots of addictive disease lie in subtle brain dysfunctions. Having said that, I made a choice, too, and I was kidding myself like it was going out of style. Just totaly delusional.

If Rush REALLY wants to recover, he has to walk away from it all. Terraform his life. Change everything.

In doing that, he will be doing everyone a favor. Especially himself.

18. That will be the hardest part
I agree with what you've said, especially about the lifestyle changes. Terraform his life.

This is the most difficult decision and addict/alcoholic HAS to make. You can never get well until you make a firm decision to abandon your former lifestyles and begin a new direction. Otherwise you keep making the same mistakes, expecting different results.

This is where most addicts fail in recovery. Sometimes it even means abandoning family and friends and YOUR JOB.

8. oh sister...you're so funny
look, Limbaugh has exacerbated the drug war. Fuck Rush Limbaugh. You want to talk about the 99% of everybody else who isn't spewing hateful propaganda and malicious jingoism and asinine moral terpitude that would fit better on Goebbels himself...

Never mind his ass, and kick him to the curb with everybody else affected with the miserably failed drug war. Should he get away with his addiction like Noelle Bush did??

9. Contact John Asscroft....Rush is helping the terrrosits.
according to the PSAs about drug abuse and terrorists.

The ONLY reason, I repeat, the ONLY reason Ruah confessed is because he was caught!

He has been in rehab 2 times and still was using? :wtf:

Hypocrite!

13. No victims in Rush-land
In his world people take responsibility for their actions. Victims are losers who refuse to accept the consequences of their actions. So is Rush.

19. Neither, and I do feel sorry for him,
because he is obviously trying to cope with a great deal of emotional pain and self destruction and/or denial. I feel bad for anyone in his situation. I think these emotions and his inability to deal with them is what has driven him to be such a hate monger. That is really sad for him, for his simple-minded minions and for the rest of us. Nevertheless, I am absolutely appalled, but not surprised, by his hypocracy. He has been absolutely heartless when talking about drug addicts. For his sake, I hope he gets more compassion than he gave to others.

The good news for the country is, I think his following will dwindle and his career is basically over. The dittoheads can't handle gray areas or human frailities.

26. with his obvious predisposition to overconsumption...
he could have been addicted to anything. it's a common issue.

the difference here is that he commanded a national audience of followers who believed he was without fault. he told them so. moreover, some folks emulated this ass. he is the prototype for all current conservative bullies, including the non-famous jackasses that we deal with every day.

his esposure as a hypocrite is very significant.
