Poll question: Would you join with Conservatives to block Miers nomination?
Now with increasing number of conservatives opposing her nomination, would you join them with the fight, considering the next nomination is based on experience and bipartisan?

And explain why you would or wouldn't join them.

2. The woman is not qualified to be on the Supreme Court.
Put aside politics and ideology .... and that simple truth remains.

8. oh i totally agree and which is why they're opposing her nomination
But I think the way its shaping, bush is going to nominate her, and we are running out of time. i think we're gonna have to do whatever we can to stop it, even if its to join with the conservatives.

4. Actaully it's a good strategy
to drag this nomination process out as long as we possibly can.

Keep Harriet as a "nominee" as long as possible to "run out the clock" so to speak until we can take back the Senate.

5. I most certainly would join them IF
the blocking is bipartisan and the next nomination is also bipartisan. But it will take a lot of cooperation of both side for that to happen.

Will conservatives do what's right for the country for a change?

Are they CAPABLE of doing what's best for America?

10. My concern is shes a lawyer, she'll defend * for war crimes on the seat
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 10:06 PM by bufffbison
My guess is he is pushing for her nomination so much, is because she is a lawyer and his buddy. think about it. if you and your whole administration is in hot water over war crimes, CIA leaks, and other bullshit, who would you pick as a supreme judge, a lawyer or a judge with experience? ...and what do you think bush is going to pick? a lawyer of course. and it all makes sense. he is setting up the supreme court as if they're his lawyers. so in the event he and his administration are taken to court for their crimes, the chances are the court will not find him or the administration guilty.

13. She is an intellectual featherweight and does not belong on the court.
I had no idea that she was such a lightweight until I saw her responses to various legal questions.

14. There's no chance of a bipartisan nominee. So I vote no.
I also would rather have a dumb-ass conservative, who no one respects on the court, then a wiley-ass conservative who can spin moderates.

If we must have a conservative, let her be a constant reminder to the conservatives of what they bought in 2004. It might keep a few of them from the polls for awhile.

No good will come out of a bush nominee anyhow.
