Two L.A.-Area Airports Shut Down by Bomb Threats
didn't hit the "big headlines" yesterday, but it was on MSNBC and CNN crawlers too...

Two L.A.-Area Airports Shut Down by Bomb Threats

Bomb threats were telephoned in to two Los Angeles-area airports early Tuesday morning, leading to the temporary closure of both. Both locations have since reopened when no bombs were found by security officials.

--snip--

A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security told Reuters that the bomb threat to Long Beach Airport was treated as 'non-specific' and 'non-credible.' Only eight flights were affected by the bomb threat and the airport has since returned to a normal schedule.

No additional information was being made available about the bomb threats at this time.

1. The real sh*t should hit the fan today
Indictments anticipated, 2,000 dead in Iraq and economy in shambles.
I think the anti-dubco forces have hit the trifecta. Must be some diversion planned unless Rove is effectively shut down. Expect Andy Card to try something.

A San Diego International Airport terminal was evacuated Tuesday morning after luggage screeners mistook a child's toy and a cookie for bomb-making materials.

3. Something's Got These Screeners On Edge
A non-public alert perhaps? Which, of course, would be the way to handle terrorist threats, since it couldn't and wouldn't be used for political advantage. But, something has caused these people to be awfully edgy. A toy and a cookie? That's not normal, course of the day stuff for TSA.
