Is this a "bad thing?" I think not.MEN grow up with the truly bizarre concept of the "fair fight." Give me a break. Square off and THROW PUNCHES ABOVE THE BELT?? What rot.

Women intelligently relegate that "Marquis de Queensbury Rules" shit to the Boxing Ring where it belongs.

If you watch a woman actually FIGHT, what does she do: her hands become talons (long nails=WEAPONS), one headed for the vitals (that's the BALLS if they're fighting a man) and the other headed where? FOR THE EYES.

This is NOT the action of a person who has any intention of losing.

And THAT is why WE lose. Politics is a CATFIGHT, and when women are truly empowered in that arena, they will kick the male ass out and into the construction site where upper body strength has any meaning at all.

I'm serious here. I'm PROUD of the way my wife can fight; verbally is all she shows ME, but if you endangered one of our kids, I SHUDDER to think what she would do.

Seriously ladies. Fair fights are for boxing matches and idiots. NEVER be ashamed of the Catfight or the instinct to do so.

Why doesn't anyone say this when a man expresses a criticism? Women don't have "talons," we don't "aim for the eyes", we aren't vicious monsters in disguise. We're rational human beings. We can debate, we can express opinions, we can THINK. You've repeated (I'm sure without meaning to offend) some of the same mysoginistic beliefs about women that men held over the past 500 years. Even if you're meaning to be complementary, it's those same kind of beliefs that keep people from taking women seriously. Women really aren't demons or "she-bears" as you said, and we're not saints either, we're just human beings.

"Cat fight" is no slur in my book. My own tomcat bit me, shredded, me, gouged me... bad enough my dad was going to go for his .22.

I talked him out of it and the cat settled back down again, but my arm swelled almost three times its size because of that bite and claw gouging.

Not. Comfortable.

But had I not put my arm up to protect myself I would have lost my eyes.

I shudder to think what a feline larger than a ten pound housecat could do to a person.

So here we have this obviously demeaning old slur against women - that when they come into conflict with one another, it's a "catfight." It's certainly not one of the key foundations of oppression of women, it's a small thing - but it's a slur.
