Let's talk about Libby... |
|
I know everyone wants to rant about Rove not being indicted today (I am choosing to trust Fitzgerald -- if Karl has broken a law, he will eventually be indicted), but let's talk about what Libby's indictment means for the WH.
Does it tarnish Cheney as much as we hope it will? Will Libby eventually go to prison? Will Libby flip (one assumes he hasn't yet)?

1. It's good bad press for WH |
|
I'm just not sure how much impact indicting a relative unknown force will have at this point. It's a wait and see game...

3. He's the VP's right hand man |

It's not hard for me to make the connection.
Or am I to think that Libby is a rogue force in the WH, inventing and concduting these crimes by himself?
Gawd, I hope the public is not that stupid.

12. The public is as stupid as the insane RW spin you will see in a few hours |
|
Don't think they won't buy that crap (the same idiot morons who elected these lying murderers). I don't see any real meat here yet... I hope I'm wrong.

2. Bunker Boy will throw Libby off the train |
|
And pretend he is saddened that his long time friend let him down and then do that crooked grin to let everyone know he is a war criminal and a criminal and that he got away with it and nobody can do anything about it and he is going to retire to his new mansion in Maryland with his giant Halliburton wad of ill-gotten gains, and ain't Murka great.

8. Will they ditch Libby or fight it? |
|
After all, Libby and Cheney are said to be close. Perhaps they will take a DeLay approach, and try to pretend it's just politics.
It is going to be fascinating to watch them scramble to make it "no big deal".

4. I do not see how it will tarnish Cheney. He is barely visable now |
|
and since * is so stupid, he will still bow to Cheney's wishes. Just look at Miers--* went out on a limb and got slapped hard. He will retreat and let Cheney continue to run the show. As for Libby, he will be left to hang and Cheney will cut all ties.

What did the president know, and when did he know it?
Libby doesn't exist in any vacuum.

6. If Rove has cut a deal with Fitz.... |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 09:05 AM by hiaasenrocks
It HAS to be because he's giving up someone bigger than he is. I think many people on here who reference the Bush/Rove vs. Cheney/Libby internal war are right on the money.
I think Rove will give up Cheney. And it has to be something big. Did Cheney have a major role in the forged document, as many of us suspect?
I think Fitz wants to break that open.
We'll have to be patient. And I'm willing to do that because I would MUCH rather see Cheney/Libby go down in flames. They are the policy "heart" of this Administration. Bush/Rove is all gamesmanship and show-and-tell. Cheney/Libby is where the substance is...so let's wait and watch them squirm and eventually be taken out of the WH for good.

Let Rove be Rove--he's amoral and could spill on Cheney & Il Stupido. I predicted ages ago that Rove would do whatever and throw over whomever to come out of this looking like a (self-styled/self-spun)"hero".
Watch for it. Have faith in justice.

10. I'm not assuming that Rove has cut a deal |
|
I've seen no evidence of that. One could assume he has, if he's not being indicted today, but it could be more complicated than that.
I don't really see Rove rolling over on the Admin, and in fact I don't see him even being offered a deal, because I think HE's the main criminal in that WH. Yes Cheney is evil, too, but I think Rove has done so many dirty and illegal things that he himself is still the target.

Now is the time to expose PNAC and their longtime support of pre-emptive wars.
