"The bulk of this investigation is done" |
|
Said Fitz, paraphrasing here, and that it's common to "keep a Grand Jury open" after an investigation for additional matters. And that whoever did the original leak isn't charged so no comment.
I don't know now, kids. Maybe this is it.

He implied there is no more grand jury testimony currently planned, but that it is kept open as a matter of course because of indictment.

the "investigation" is almost over, now he has to go back and put it together for further charges.

Although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really hoping for more.
I guess we will have to wait a little while longer to be sure.

He will never be trusted again. Even if he never gets indicted, he will still pay for what he did.

7. Look, if he's aiming for more heads he can't SAY so. |
|
Take what you can from this and try not to overly fret... he's playing this straight and narrow and not fudging the rules at all.
The independent counsel rules are different but he's NOT an independent counsel.

10. No, the crime is described, but intent will trump everything. |
|
Who intended what shows motive and means which leads to additional charges if Fitz can prove it. He's lulling the other team into a flase sense of security. Fitz is really really good!

A widing investigation to me.
I hope I'm wrong, and that you are right, but that's the sense I'm getting from this.

17. Fitz is laying a foundation beautifully. |
|
He would be comitting legal malpractice to say he was pre-determining where this was heading. Trust him, he is doing it the way you would a mob crime. The crime and follow all the way up the chain to prove that it was either an individual act or a collective. He also can't lay out his case before he gets to trial. He is preserving the evidence and the White House is truly in a panic right now. It is a beautiful thing to watch.
The fastball of saying Russert so many times to put the press on notice as well. He's firing on all cylinders!

IMHO, I'm not an attorney, but if I were on staff in the White House, I'd be soiling myself. He's not backing down and he's not giving up.

From what I understand, he is keeping that option OPEN if necessary, but this hasn't been done.

24. But that could mean many things. It may mean he has ALREADY gotten the |
|
goods on many others, and is just tying up a few more loose ends before new indictments. It could also mean there isn't going to be much more.
He is very effectively inscrutible to me, but if the evidence is pointing at more indictments, I betcha Fitz was able to make that clear to those who are being considered for them.
I sure would like to see the whole cabal go down, but if this is all, I still think he has done a great job. And he seemed very ethical and above reproach in his answers to the press.
