LIBERAL DEMS who are pleased about today, check in here:
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 07:50 PM by mzmolly
*I*

:hi:

Let us dispell the myth that the left is pissed about today. Sure this is what they WISH FOR, but it is not the case. Their further wish is to brainwash US, like they do to their own retards.

Sorry, try again Rush and company.

Once it starts rolling it keeps on rolling. Nothing has gone right for Mr. Emperor Bunnypants since Cindy so rudely interupted his month long vacation. And this is just another big snowball. Blizzards are coming. Of course I'm thrilled.

133. This is exactly the way I feel, Generator.
All I wanted was for one person to get indicted, and then I knew that the ensuing 24/7 media coverage would ensue.

The snowball is rollin' downhill, and it just keeps getting bigger.

Now, they will be tried in the American public's collective mind, and that's where things will really start to get ugly, with the Rethugs attacking each other.

The ones who are up for reelection are in deep fear right now.

The blizzards are coming.

21. It's a good start.
I predicted weeks ago that Scooter would be the sacrificial goat, as he was clearly the most expendable of the White House branch of BCE/PNAC. What I'm hoping is that Scooter has the brains to realize they threw him under the bus and that he gave Fitz enough to bring down Bolton at least. And Fitz said that Libby named an "undersecretary of state", so hopefully that is the direction he will proceed with further investigations. And possibly Rove also. Cheney would be good as well, but there's no way in Hell that bastard will still be around in 2008 regardless of what happens legally. He looks like the Grim Reaper's gonna stop by on Halloween and carry him back to Hell!

A liar has been caught in his lies and will face the music. He will bring the VP into the mess, along with more distrust of the WH brigade. Rove is still being investigated after singing like a canary. Watergate started with a cover up too!

I would have been pissed if nothing had come of the investigation. Bottom line is, the Bush 43 WH has been injurious to the country in countless ways and are being outed by their lies. America belongs to us, not George W. Bush & Co. It's time they realize this for the first time since 2000.

The VP's chief of staff, also an adviser to the President and a founding member of the PNAC was indicted today. That is no small feat.

Fitzgerald has also empaneled a new grand jury, so this isn't over by a long shot. Watching his press conference today gave me hope for my country again.

Now on to the trial...

57. I am very pleased. I think more would be if they realized TWO THINGS:
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 08:13 PM by Nothing Without Hope
First, these things go in stages and take time to develop and mature. This is just the first stage. Fitzgerald is NOT going to rush into something without the tightest case possible. Sloppiness will get people off and he will not tolerate that.

Second, Libby really is far more important than Rove in this. This is beautifully explained by Steve Gilliard in this important thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5210540
thread title: Why a Libby Indictment is Crucial (by Steve Gilliard)

I am very pleased and proud of what Fitzgerald and his people have done and will continue to do. He has been there when he was desperately needed - a hardworking, brilliant, honest hero. He has already put the corrupt GOP Congress to shame for refusing to investigate the Niger documents or anything else.

61. I think it's profound that Fitz said "The administration is not above the
law." Paraphrased of course, but he said as a nation we can't afford to let our leaders "skate" when they break the law.

He is definately a man of integrity. I hope this is just the first straw and I think that it is.

I disgree with Steve on the point that Cheney had the idea to go to war, I think Bush had the idea and the rest carried out orders to "get it done." But, I don't think Libby is less of a catch then Rove by any means.

67. Actually, Cheney has had the dream of dominating the Middle East by
force of arms for many years. since at least the early '90's and probably earlier. I don't doubt that Shrub signed on when it was discussed, but it's been Cheney's passion - and Wolfowitz's, Bolton's, Rumsfeld's...

I didn't recall him on the signatory list, but he was as you note. Sheesh! And the media STILL refuses to discuss PNAC?! However, Bush would not have his cabinet made up of PNAC-ers were it not his vision as well right?

Happy that there seems to be a light at the end of this long horrific tunnel of war-mongering deceitful filthy pigs.

Sad because they have defiled the White House, the military, the constitution and my beloved country.

64. Finally, MSM is talking about reason we went to war & how bad this looks
YES!

This is more then an indictment of Libby. It will finally bring to light the out and out lying, curruption and smear that took place to intentionally deceive this country into going to war over nothing.

The mainstream media is making this talking point a central story today.

Very good news.

This is the beginning, not the end, and I am very excited that the lies this administration has told are coming back to haunt them!

:toast: :toast: :toast:

Fitzgerald:"...I think what we see here today, when a vice president's chief of staff is charged with perjury and obstruction of justice, it does show the world that this is a country that takes its law seriously; that all citizens are bound by the law.

But what we need to also show the world is that we can also apply the same safeguards to all our citizens, including high officials. Much as they must be bound by the law, they must follow the same rules."

AMEN! (and pass the popcorn!)

I think this is just starting to build! We have at least another round of Fitzmas coming!

If the investigation were over now, then the Republicans would just start spinning and they'd have a whole year to spin and manipulate public opinion.

Instead, it's just going to go on and on... this is an excellent outcome. Fitz could just screw with these guys right up to the election.

81. Pleased I am.
Even if we never get Rove, Cheney or Bush, I'm happy. I love the smell of indictments in the morning, it smells like victory. This is a nail in the neo-con coffin. It's not what we know, it's what we can prove; legally. Really, even if Fitz never proves anything beyond Libby's guilt, people will know that the neocons outed a CIA NOC for their silly war...because of today.

Because they had to lie and conceal in the face of justice. Because they abused their power and broke their oaths. The rock has been torn away and the vile things underneath are scurrying for the shadows fearing the light of justice and truth, their murky lies and excuses look as clearly shallow as puddles and it's before the entire country to see.

People will look back on this day and ask where where you when Patrick Fitzgerald brought low the Bush crime family. It may not look as much today but the Empire is dead, the usurper-king has begun his last descent, the fall from grace and the world is too closely watching the withering of his reign for its' last dying gasp.

I am pleased. I look forward to this hanging over the admin everyday. I look forward to the continuing investigation into Rove. I am pleased that this will damage the evil bastard Cheney. I feel positively that everyday, another American gets fed up with the * admin, and turns away. I like that the body of the * admin is rotting bit by bit. I understand that it will take time. I know that I can look forward to a lifetime in opposition to the redical right, and that is not a good feeling.

I accept that.

I am pleased, especially as I had a chance to read the text of the indictment before the press conference. It made things a little more clear- knowing exactly what, when, and why,.... so that I could focus on exactly what he was saying rather than trying to connect the dots together in my head.

This has been a good day. It truly amazes me to think that only 1 year ago, we were all gearing up for the final days of the 2004 campaign. So much has changed and this time, no amount of spin can cover up the truly criminal operations of the BFEE.

Indictments start low and end high in an attempt to get the underlings to roll on the big cheese. Fitz said it's not over, but that the bulk of the work is done. Yeo, all that's left is to get the truth out of Scooter so that the leaker can be indicted.

114. I haven't posted here in a very long time, but, I will
to say YES, I am VERY pleased about what happened today! Count two of us (spousal unit and I are in agreement). Had there been NOTHING at all, had Fitz said "nothing here, no further investigation," well, yeah, THAT would've been a terrible blow, even though, to be honest, I was afraid that was what we might hear. But that isn't what happened. Not at all.

A wise man once told me, "When you place your own EXPECTATIONS on someone else, you are setting yourself up for DISAPPOINTMENT." Even though I admit I had expectations, I didn't set them so high as to be disappointed. Of course, I had the same fantasy we probably ALL held somewhere... that the whole freakin' cabal would come crashing down today. But that was fantasy-time and I knew it. My real hopes were exactly what we got, and I have every reason to believe that the fat lady has NOT yet sung, and that it ain't over.

The BONUS was getting to see and hear Fitzgerald... and here I saw and heard a man who has more dignity, honor, and integrity in his li'l finger than most currently in power, and definitely more than anyone currently in the White House (OBVIOUSLY). THAT pleased me greatly, and gives me HOPE for the future of our America. And I do love her so.

139. Pleased but also disappointed in Congress
They should have been asking these questions long before they okayed the war in Iraq. It smelled bad from the very beginning and why they allowed this to happen, both dem and repug, is beyond me. They all seem to have forgotten who they are working for.

147. I'd say yesterday amounted to a 'tectonic' shift
Fitz has screwed the neocon/corporatist, they know it. Lets just sit back and wait for the fundies to wake-up. The corrupt side of the RW machine has been exposed for all to see.

The anastasia of MLK's rainbow coalition could begin shortly. Will the fundies compromise their sense of right and wrong or will they see the corporatist for what he is, a thief, crook and murderer.

were very upset by yesterdays events. ;) Perhaps they were talking about another party of which I'm unware?

151. I can dig it. What I like best about the indictments is...
It seems to have - symbolically at the least - showed that we can crack the walls of this Ivory tower. I think the progress has not gone unnoticed by the "spineless" Dem leadership. And judging from the recent statements of Reid and Kerry, we can expect more consistent leadership from them. They can now speak in the high-minded moralistic tones that the American public likes to hear.

153. Me...
... of course the lying liars on the right are trying to claim "victory". They always claim victory. To them, the war is going great, the economy is booming, everything is copacetic.

I know better, and so do more and more Americans.

Let's see how happy they are in a few months. The Federal prosecutor has just stuck a shiv in thier backs - it didn't hit any vital organs, but they are bleeding and there is no way to stop it.

The've got Rove especially but really the whole neocon gang of treacherous fools sitting on pins and needles. There isn't going to be any happiness in the White House for a damn long time.

Happy? I'm ecstatic!

I feel so warm knowing we have someone who is bigger than the whole lot of 'em. As the man say, I will not end this investigation until I can look everyone in the eye, something like that.

157. I'm content.
It's been reassuring to me to know that there's a Patrick Fitzgerald out there. I have not seen such integrity in years. Let's hope the momentum generated on Friday with the Scooter indictment continues. This administration is headed for the trash can of history.

165. I am pleased about the indictments against Libby as they
surely indicate he didn't act alone. The fact that he answers to both * and Darth Cheney should silence any freeper thread joyful that only 'one' person is indicted.

Wake up freepers... there are many more 10/28s coming your way. And there ain't no one more patience that us Liberals. We will see justice for our country sooner than later.
