I set it to tape right now (6:00 pacific) but forgot to change the channel to CNN for the first half hour! Grr! And I can't watch at 9:00 because Commander in Chief is on. So I'll retape at midnight pacific time.

6. Wilson "National security is an important issue" |
|
When asked if he regrets going to Niger, Wilson said no, stressed the importance of national security, and added, "A nuclear bomb dropped in the US doesn't kill Republicans or Democrats. A nuclear bomb kills Americans."

9. If anyone has not seen Wilson's speech to the National |
|
Press Club (yesterday) it is a must see. He spoke for about 45 minutes - no notes. Reminds me of Bill Clinton. Then he took questions.
He is really, really stellar. A good man and a great American.

28. He IS a terrific guy. AND a FABULOUS husband! John McCain could take |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 11:24 AM by calimary
a lesson from him about how a REAL man is supposed to stand by his woman instead of kissing the ass of the jackals who attack her as a way to hit him. Are you paying attention, McCain??? THIS is how it's done. You stand by your wife and your family when they're wrongly under fire. You DON'T suck up to the bad guys who are attacking them.
Wilson is a hero and a patriot. My admiration for him grows every day. Note to Valerie Plame Wilson - you take GOOD care of this guy, okay? You're a lucky woman. He's obviously still crazy about you after all these years, and he's put his neck on the block to defend your honor. He's a KEEPER, BAR NONE!!!

17. Q: What do you think of Iraq?" A from Joe Wilson: " |
|
I think Iraq is an absolute disaster. Spoke to someone who just returned - our troops are now just phoning it in".
What's that I hear? TRUTH? A day with lots of truth today? Go figure....have had to pinch myself several times today (and it felt SOOO GOOD!)

29. I know. I caught some of "Hardball," and the statements people like |
|
Howard Fineman and Andrea Mitchell and even Tweety himself were making. I found myself literally jumping up and down, clapping my hands, and cheering out loud!! Couldn't believe my ears!! Couldn't believe they were saying things like noting the fear and intimidation some of the media probably felt after 9/11 (!!!!!!!!! I could NOT BELIEVE Fineman actually said that out loud!!), which kept them hesitant to probe and look beyond the propaganda and administration bullying. Saying the Dems's questioning was reasonable!!! Hear that? REASONABLE!!!! Again, more on-camera use of the "L" word - LIES, LYING, they LIED.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Saw a smidgen of the Pox "news" coverage (wherein, just this morning, they were talking about "Princess Camilla Parker Bowels" and Prince Charles meeting with the "gliteri" of New York... :grr:) in which they were the ONLY ones to just repeatedly, and resolutely to get it WRONG. My husband still insists on tuning in there "to see what the enemy is up to." It's usually more than I can stomach.
It was an ASTOUNDING day. Just ASTOUNDING. I saw parts of both the Larry King interview and Wilson's CSPAN appearance (as the lead speaker on a panel of news people). There were TONS of TRUTH-TELLINGS yesterday.
I could NOT believe my ears that some media people (on "Hardball" specifically) who admitted that they'd been duped and hadn't been as vigilant and hadn't asked the questions they should have asked. AMAZING!!!
Oh yeah, then I saw the usually-useless Dana Milbank noting that the Dems had very shrewdly changed the subject back after bush tried to distract everybody yesterday with his new Supreme Court nominee. I forget just where it was in which I saw Milbank admit that he'd been all set to write a whole bunch of stuff about Alito and had to throw it all out and refocus on what the Dems had done, and how they'd gotten pretty damned gutsy.
It was REMARKABLE and UTTERLY WUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNderful!!!

27. He said (in NYT article, 7/6/03) that he understood that the VP had |
|
requested info on Niger, and that's why he went on the mission when the CIA asked him to. The cons jumped all over him for that--just for mentioning Cheney's name. Misquoted him; misinterpreted. Said he said Cheney sent him. (--not what he said). Then, that was the cover story for outing Plame, that Rove was trying to "set the record straight," that it wasn't Cheney, it was Wilson's own wife at the CIA.
Upshot: They were real, real touchy about Cheney and Niger, and tried very hard to point the finger away from him.
Common sense surmise: Cheney commissioned the Niger forgeries.
