Has the Maryland Democratic party lost its mind?
If you have questions about the Lt. Governor's record or what initiatives he's behind, then great and go after him with ads, debate, voter registrations, etc. But pelting him with Oreos? Jeez, can't these people come up with a better way to fight his campaign?

Without a link to a legitimate source, it's just hearsay and a hallmark of Maryland Republican Smear tactics

8. Here it is.
It comes from the Washington Times, but since it quotes Mfume and others, I don't doubt the oreos part of it.

4. What are you talking about? Kind of painting with a broad brush are
we not? I didn't even know he was pelted with oreos but I am quite certain it wasn't done by the "Maryland Democratic Party."

7. Have seen a single reference in Johns Hopkins Magazine
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 03:02 PM by new_beawr
to an incident in the 2002 campaign where Oreos were "brandished" by activists.

AND - something last Friday in - the reliably untrue - Newsmax.

AND something from the Moonie Times, which I cannot Access.......

10. Read the article...he wasn't even the Lt. Gov during the oreo incident

12. I think they have it wrong
The incident took place in 2002 and it was activists, and there was no pelting......

Here is a reliable source:

http://www.jhu.edu/~jhumag/0405web/steele.html

For that to morph into an official Democratic Party position is like saying Tim McVeigh carried out Republican Party Orders......

14. 20 posts and this is what you come up with?
first, it wouldn't be the "Democratic party" which pelted him with oreos (if that happened) it would be some demonstartors. I assume you can't come up with anything the Republican party or their operatives are doing wrong--such as waging an unjust war and lying to get us into it or leaking a CIA agents name as an act of political revenge?
