Where is Aaron Brown tonight?
Is he gone completely? Rick Sanchez is anchoring NewsNight. Dang... I liked Aaron Brown's wit.

4. Yeah, I read the other threads...
I'm just surprised he's gone so soon. Guess he didn't want to finish out the week -- can't blame him really.

11. Sounds like ratings. I disagree w/ the "quality thing".

Klein said the changes are in response to the "momentum" of Cooper's 360 and Blitzer's Situation Room since Katrina. "We want to give more exposure to both of those programs, and that limited the options for Aaron." Klein said. "It's a ratings and quality thing: how can we build the best programs to enable us to do the best work and attract the largest sustainable audience."

Brown and Cooper, both ABC News alumni, were recently paired on NewsNight after Cooper's Katrina reporting impressed CNN executives. But the show lost 72% of its audience from Larry King Live. Brown and Cooper, on vacation this week, were unavailable for comment.

In 2003, Brown failed to materialize at his anchor desk after the weekend space shuttle Columbia disaster, while counterparts such as NBC's Tom Brokaw chartered planes to get to their newsrooms. Brown was at a golf tournament in California at the time and said he didn't feel he had the authority to charter a plane to get back.

"I felt trapped. I was nuts. This was my job. This is my worst nightmare," he told USA TODAY. Klein said the incident "has never come up" since Klein joined CNN in 2004.

12. Bring back Aaron Brown petition!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
They got rid of Aaron Brown because of the new CNN Pres John Klein, who wanted to format the show in a more fox-ish style to combat Greta Van Susteren's rising ratings. We all have to admit-- compared to everyone else out there (save Keith Olbermann) Aaron Brown was the best. Here's a petition that is being presented to CNN in NY at the end of Nov. PLEASE SIGN!!!!!!
