SMYRNA, Tenn. - Members of a church say God is punishing American soldiers for defending a country that harbors gays, and they brought their anti-gay message to the funerals Saturday of two Tennessee soldiers killed in Iraq.

The church members were met with scorn from local residents. They chased the church members cars’ down a highway, waving flags and screaming “God bless America.”

The people you're refering to are basically insane, and evil. I'm not a fan of people shoving their religion down your throat, or using the Bible to tell other people how they should live, but in fairness to fundamentalists everywhere, Phelps and his crew are a breed unto themselves.

and there were a lot of rumors that there were going to be protestors, but they didn't show. I had no idea it was the Phelps gang! (This was Tennessee, too.) People were planning to run them out of town if they came.
